After beating out thousands of aspirants and proving themselves to the coaches and viewers, the four grand finalists of The Voice Teens are gearing up for the vocal battle of a lifetime to be named its first-ever grand champion in the country and in Asia this Saturday and Sunday (July 29 and 30).
Coach Sharon is betting on Jeremy to become the first The Voice champion to come from her team. Although raised in the US, Jeremy shows his love for OPM music through his song choices. His fans are used to the Charming Cutie of California crooning ballads, but he is sure to pull off surprises in the grand finale that will silence even the naysayers.
Let us look back at his journey in the top-rating singing competition.
For the semi-finals, Jeremy proved he deserved his spot when he owned the stage and performed the Harry Styles hit, “Sign of the Times.” He advanced to the grand finals after receiving a total score of 99% from his coach and the public, and became the contender of Team Sharon.
For the first live show, he serenaded the coaches and audience with his heartfelt rendition of “How Did You Know,” popularized by Gary Valenciano. He was saved by the public and he advanced to the semi-finals.
For the knockout round, the Charming Cutie of California impressed everyone with his performance of the Labrinth song, “Jealous.” Coach Sharon chose him alongside Alessandra Galvez and Christy Lagapa to advance to the live shows.
For the battle round, he sang a moving rendition of “Sana Maulit Muli” with half-British contestant, Heather Hawkins, which impressed the coaches. Coach Sharon had a hard time deciding which one to choose but eventually, she chose to go with Jeremy.
For his blind audition, Jeremy performed “Ikaw,” popularized by Sharon Cuneta. Both Coach Sharon and Coach Sarah turned for him but the young heartthrob chose the Megastar to be his coach.
