Everyone in Barrio Sto. Francisco, Iolocos Norte is busy preparing meals for the festivity that day. As a way of expressing their thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest, they all work together to prepare sumptuous food and have a bit of fun later by dancing and singing.
While everyone is keeping their hands busy at something, Cora (Tess Antonio) is enticed with the food on the table and eats jackfruit strips until she begins choking to death. They all panic as Cora loses consciousness but Rhian (Angel Locsin) is alert and quick enough to perform a medical procedure.
She lays Cora down on a long chair and asks everyone to give them space for proper ventilation. She, then, asks for a pen. Rhian gets a sharp knife and puts it on fire for sterilization. She makes an incision in Cora’s throat to create an opening for breathing. She places the empty tube of pen into the cut to maintain the opening. Rhian blows two breaths through the tube and Corazon regains her consciousness.
Rhian and the other residents immediately rush Cora to the hospital. However, they encounter problems as their vehicle had an engine problem while they are in the middle of the road. They have no choice but to carry Cora through a stretcher and walk their way to the nearest hospital.
While everyone is losing hope as it would still take a long journey going to the hospital, Rhian is keeping her faith as the situation is a matter of life and death.
It is already nighttime and they have been walking all day. Everyone is already exhausted and their hands are getting numbed so, they plead Rhian to take a rest first. Fortunately, there’s a jeepney coming their way. Rhian immediately stops the vehicle and pleads the driver who agreed to help them rush Cora to the hospital.
