It has been two weeks since Angel Locsin began astonishing us anew with her impeccable performance in the small screen through her headliner stint in the primetime series The General’s Daughter as 2nd Lieutenant Rhian D. Bonifacio, RN, and she’s consistently nailing every scene.
In her 12 years as a full-fledged Kapamilya, she has starred in six teleseryes and this is arguably the biggest and most star-studded of all as it boasts five of the most respected veteran actors we have in the country on its main cast – Tirso Cruz III, Albert Martinez, Janice De Belen, Eula Valdez, and Maricel Soriano.
In the first 10 episodes, we have witnessed how they brilliantly play their characters and compel us with their on-point acting, such as in their remarkable scenes with the lead star included in this Friday 5 feature.
With Tirso Cruz III
Since she was a child, we all know that Rhian has been spending most of her life earning the love and appreciation of her domineering feigning parents. Thus, we are all surely moved, or perhaps even somehow relate, with that poignant moment when Rhian asked her masquerading dad Santiago “Heneral Tiago” Guerrero, “Proud ba ho kayo sa akin?” to which he replied, “Proud na proud, anak. Always. Pero kaunti pa, galingan mo pa.”
With Albert Martinez
Tiago instilled to her that the military is their mortal enemy and that the leader, General Marcial de Leon, is her target of annihilation. However, she may find it hard to constantly harbor ill feelings against Marcial as he, unbeknownst to her, is actually her real father. Marcial even showed concern for her when they crossed paths inside the camp by asking her condition after the accident that spawned her temporary amnesia.
With Janice de Belen
Ever since she was a child, her mom Amelia has been giving her a cold shoulder. She never gave her affection and would always be crabby whenever they talk. This is because of the charade of having Rhian as her child that is part of her husband Tiago’s revenge plot against Marcial.
With Eula Valdez
While she has not developed a tight bond with her make-believe mom Amelia, Rhian found a genuine mother figure in General Marcial’s wife Corazon, her real mom who she met during a party at the De Leon residence. Since then, they have grown fonder of each other and the de Leon matriarch even let her assist her in cooking at their kitchen. Their connection seemed natural with Corazon enjoying every minute of it.
With Maricel Soriano
As she temporarily lost her memory after a bullet grazed her head when the Chinese coastguard troops opened fire as she escaped in her rescue mission of Tiago’s men, Rhian found a home away from home in the loving family of Sabel (Diamond Star Maricel Soriano) and her autistic son Elai (Arjo Atayde) . Even though Rhian is a stranger and townsfolk strongly wants her to leave their island because of possible threats she possesses, the Sarmientos still fought for her and warmly welcomed her when she came back. Their most recent dramatic meeting earned praises from the viewers and netizens alike, signifying how the two actresses effectively touched our hearts.
Don’t miss out on her next encounters with these top-caliber and respected actors by watching The General’s Daughter, weeknights after FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano on Primetime Bida.
