In the first week of The General’s Daughter, Angel Locsin proves us that her comeback on primetime is worth the wait. On the first wave of her intense fight scenes as 2nd Lieutenant Rhian Bonifacio, here are three of her core values Rhian showed she will embody no matter what.
She doesn’t hesitate to risk her safety for others
On the very first scene of the show, Rhian risked her life to save the fishermen and their children from being held captive by the Chinese Coast Guard. Although she didn’t die, her head injury resulted in a temporary amnesia. Rhian stayed for days with the fisher folks who saved her, before she was found by Captain Ethan Del Fiero (JC De Vera). During her stay with the people who cared for her namely Isabel "Nanang Sabel" Sarmiento (Maricel Soriano) and Elijah "Elai" Sarmiento (Arjo Atayde), Rhian defended them against oppressive hooligans.
She has the courage to stand up for herself
When she was surprisingly attacked by Franco Segismundo (Paulo Avelino) and other men, Rhian didn’t just let them take her without a fight. Given the fact that she’s still hasn’t recovered from her temporary amnesia, Rhian fought for her own safety and didn’t let herself be a damsel in distress.
She values the truth
Yes, she’s in the state of temporary amnesia. And even though the people around her keep on telling her who she is, Rhian doesn’t just rely on what she hears. She listens to them while also searching and rediscovering herself.
Angel Locsin is indeed back on primetime and she certainly got us craving for more. As we continue to be with her in the next months of her journey as Rhian, let’s take a look back on her top five most intense scenes that proved us she’s the ‘Action Drama Queen’.
