Her character Lexy Lucero in The Broken Marriage Vow may have irritated viewers for her misdeeds, but we surely admired her for her love for her parents. And in real life, actress Sue Ramirez apparently has a lovely bond with her beloved family as well, as seen in their photos that we collated in this gallery.

Born Sue Anna Garina Dodd, she is the youngest of the five children of Filipina Concepcion “Chit” Garina and American James Peter Dodd. Her mom is from Sipalay City, Negros Occidental and currently serves in two national labor and union organizations, while her late dad was a retired senior officer at the United States state department.

A self-confessed “mommy’s girl”, the actress was only six years old when her father suffered stroke. According to her interview in Magandang Buhay in 2016, that caused a sudden change in the dynamics of their family, as their mom had to juggle her responsibilities at home and at work, and, at the same time, Sue and her siblings had to take good care of their dad, too.

Since she was too young when her dad got sick, she didn’t get to have much time with him. Then she entered showbiz at the age of 16 in 2010, with the hopes of helping her family pay for his medical expenses, yet they eventually lost him in 2013 when she was around 16 to 17. With the little time she only got to spend with her father, she couldn’t help but regret not reaching out nor talking to him more when he was still alive.

It was also in 2016 when she was joined by her Kuya Aldin in a Magandang Buhay guesting, who described her as a ‘bully,’ yet the kind of sister a kuya would ask for”. He also used to spoil when she was still a kid by giving her the things that she wanted, such as rollerblades and bike, despite their Mommy Chit’s disapproval.

Then in 2020, we got to know her Ate Andrea during their Magandang Buhay appearance, wherein they talked about their bond as sisters. According to Sue, they actually weren’t close when they were still kids. But that changed when Andrea and her their older siblings took charge of looking after the young Sue, as well as accompanied her in her auditions.

They have been very supportive of her projects since then, with Sue paying them back by also taking good care of her nieces and nephews, who fondly call her “Baby Anna”, whenever she’s not busy with work and by spoiling them, too!

And in April 2021, we’re able to get a glimpse of her bond with her Mommy Chit when the latter made a surprise appearance in one of her virtual media interviews. Although her mom gave her a little reprimand, Sue has nothing but gratitude to her mom for raising her well.

“I’m just always grateful that I am the person that I am today because of her,” the 25-year-old actress tearfully said.

Then she continued, “All that I am talaga is because of my mom. I would like to say that I was raised well and that’s all thanks to her. And I think, all of the positive things that people say about me, it’s because of her, because of how she raised me, how she taught me, how she brought me to this world. So, I’m very, very grateful talaga”.
