The anatomy of Jodi and co-stars’ urban Pinoy styling in The Broken Marriage Vow

Besides the plot itself and the actors’ performances, the choice of costumes and wardrobe play a major aspect in teleseryes.  Case in point: “The Broken Marriage Vow” and its urban Pinoy styling concept. In a fashion guide wittily titled “Steal Her Style, Not Her Man,” Dreamscape Entertainment revealed a fashion lookbook of Dr. Jill Ilustre (Jodi Sta Maria) and other characters’ OOTDs.

The maiden episode proved to be a visual feast as Jill donned traditional aesthetics from head to toe.

For a comfy look, Jill rebirthed the traditional tapis into a playful skirt. Adding up to the chill hipster vibe is her pair of white sneakers, as well as a unique tote bag inspired by the jeepney.

In the next gap, Jill upgraded her white dress with an embroidered blue opera coat handcrafted by Tausug artisans. She went for charming native bags to complete the theme.

We just found the new goddess of layering! Jill Is a bonafide head-turner in her quirky multi-colored skirt paired with white blouse and finished off with a red coat. For the accessories, she opted for a unique sun-inspired brooch, shell earrings, and heavily beaded bag.

The effortlessly chic ensemble just got prettier matching the outdoor setting in this scene:

On the day she unknowingly met her husband’s mistress, Jill was the real winner with her red dress that made a louder impact when teamed up with a posh white jacket that has eagle-inspired embroidery. Here’s Jill giving the other woman a powerful boss lady and legal wife vibes:

She would radiate all the more with a pair of three-stars-and-a-sun earrings, plus thorn ring.

With a fashionable wife like Jill, David (Zanjoe Marudo) will sure feel the need to keep up. In the scene at his mother’s house, he wore a guayabera button-down shirt hand-embroidered by artisans from indigenous communities. Oozing with leading-man appeal, he topped it off with a leather jacket and paired with hand-crafted leather boots with solihiya detail (sunburst pattern).

Well the ‘other woman’ Lexy (Sue Ramirez) also appeared feisty by nature, wearing a fancy jacket and carrying an eye-catching bag that looks like a vintage telephone.

Even Jill’s ‘frenemies’ come in their most fashionable Pinoy wardrobe. Rachel Alejandro as Lexy’s mother Nathalia exudes timeless elegance and fun-loving personality, which stood out when she upped the basic pants with a colorful Indian silk top that has oversized, everybody-look-at-me puff sleeves. She definitely nails the modern Filipiniana look!

Bianca Manalo as Carol keeps her character interesting with busy prints like that ruffled blouse-and-skirt combo that goes well with a handcrafted tote bag with bougainvillea details.

Even when wearing closet staples, the ladies of The Broken Marriage Vow keep it more fun by accessorizing. Of course, their jewelries also celebrate Pinoy artistry like Sandy (Angeli Bayani)’s Hablon earrings.
