The singing competition that launched in January 2016, Tawag ng Tanghalan sa It’s Showtime has paved way for the rise of ordinary people who once just dreamt of singing and sharing their talents on national television.
After its celebrity edition that ended last November 9, It's Showtime is now giving a second chance to those who failed to win the competition through their TNT All-Star Grand Resbak.
Jophil Cece from Year 3 Quarter 1 came back to compete Friday, November 29.
For the first round, he gave his own rendition of "The Long and Winding Road" which garnered 95.8 percent. According to Hurado Yeng Constantino, his speaking voice is different from his singing quality thus, there was an "element of surprise" in his performance. The judge added that his choice of notes were "class" and "tasteful."
He sang "Love Always Finds a Way" in the second round which earned a standing ovation and scored 97.6 percent.
Jophil represented Team Alab after Hazelyn Cascaño chose to rest for the day.
The song he did not pick to perform is "For the First Time.
