Tawag Ng Tanghalan has been a ray of hope for aspiring singers from every corner of the Philippines. The competition has given an equal shot at fame to turn dreams into reality. Now on its second season, It’s Showtime together with the hurados and the super duper fabulous madlang people, has continued to make history.
These artists alone from the previous seasons are enough proof that win or lose, this once in a lifetime experience can pave many paths to success.
Noven Belleza, the grand champion from season one has since released his own album. One of his singles, “Tumahan Ka Na”, even reached the number one spot on radio charts. But he’s not the only one from his batch that has basked in the limelight since.
Grand finalist Rachel Gabreza has been busy joining international competitions. The TNT Diva may have failed to grab the grand champion title here in the Philippines, but earlier this year, she has finally earned her crown in London’s Stars of the Albion Grand Prix 2018.
Who could forget grand finalist Sam Mangubat. He used to just upload song covers on YouTube, but now has his original music to sing. “Pagka’t Nariyan Ka”, one of his most popular songs, has also topped local radio charts.
Meanwhile, these talented young boys are proving that adults aren’t the only ones that can shine on the Tanghalan stage. As the grand champion for TNT Kids edition, Jhon has been immersed in the entertainment industry at his young age. He has even proudly shared that he has met many other aspiring artists.
Grand finalists Mackie Empuerto, Kiefer Sanchez and Francis Concepcion, on the other hand, may not have fallen short in the competition but it seems they have found the perfect formula for their success. They formed the TNT Boys and have since wowed audiences from the UK and US after joining international editions of “Little Big Shots”. They performance of Beyonce’s “Listen” has gone viral, that even famous talk show host Ellen DeGeneres tweeted about them.
Artists in their own craft, they were once just dreamy eyed fans. And it was in their performance for #TNT2HulingTapatan that had all of us feeling proud to have witnessed how far they’ve come because of Tawag Ng Tanghalan.
