Moments before the grand champion was announced, fans and families at home weren’t the only ones sitting at the edge of their seats. The hurados were also holding their breaths because this was the moment that their guidance and choices will finally be validated.
Usually there would only be five hurados, but because this is the grand finale It’s Showtime needed the help of 14, namely: Karla Estrada, Mitoy Yonting, Jed Madela, Nyoy Volante, K Brosas, Kyla, Eric Santos, Karylle, Billy Crawford, Yeng Constantino, the Queen of Soul Jaya, singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid, OPM Legend Rico J. Puno, and of course the hit maker Punong Hurado Rey Valera.
As tough as this competition has been for all of the contestant, every day has also been a challenge for the hurados. It is their job to spot who has what it takes to stand out in the entertainment industry and separate them from the rest of the crowd. Their daily scores decided who would reach this final stage. Their pieces of advice to the hopefuls helped shape these undiscovered talents.
“Kapag nakikita ko sila, parang ang saya kasi naging parte din ako ng journey nila,” said Jaya in during the finale. And Yeng couldn’t agree more, when she talked about how proud she was to have witnessed how lives were changed because of Tawag Ng Tanghalan. Although, Nyoy admitted that he wasn’t surprised to see how far the contestants have given, given that they truly are a cut above the rest.
Ogie only hopes that the enthusiasm among the contestants is a positive sign of what’s to come for original Pilipino music. The punong hurado only hopes that fans would continue to support these rising stars even after this competition. And on a final note, he invited everyone to return for season three. Although it will be a while until then, for now our brilliant hurados have time for a break. These backstage photos alone show how happy and relax they are because their job is finally done.
