Kim Chiu might have faced immense challenges dealing with bashers left and right, but the Love Thy Woman actress showed she could overcome it and still emerge triumphant, mounting a glorious comeback by posting a vlog on Monday, May 18.
She started off by vivaciously greeting everyone and recalling what she went through in the previous days that prompted her to stay away from social media and even from her phone in order to maintain her sanity. While we expected Kim to get back at those who bashed her, she opted to thank them instead because the rocks they’ve thrown at her only made her stronger and shine brighter.
“Kung sino man ‘yong nagsalita ng masama sa akin, okay lang, gusto ko na lang din magpasalamat. Thank you so much dahil sa inyo naging trending ang pangalan ko. Salamat sa atensyon na ibinigay n’yo sa akin at least napasaya kayo,” she jested.
Kim then went on to disclose how that experience made her crestfallen due to the painful comments she received, and at the same admitted also laughing at herself upon realizing that she, too, couldn’t understand what she talked about. Instead of sulking about it, she has chosen to look at the brighter side and expressed her gratitude to those people who consoled her in the lowest point of her life.
However, among the tons of messages she had received, it’s the viral open letter of netizen Adrian Crisanto shared to her by the ABS-CBN and Star Magic bosses that completely captured her attention. Adrian not only comforted her, but also gave her clever ideas on how to turn this negative event in her life into something positive and even profitable. Thus, in order to formally thank him for the pick-me-up and suggestions he offered, she invited him to a fun online conversation via Zoom!
Thrilled upon the multi-faceted actress’ declaration that they’re now “friends”, Adrian narrated to Kim what urged her to post his open letter.
“Hindi ko tinataas ang expectations ko na makikita mo ‘yon. So parang ako, casual. Kaya parang ang mga words ko do’n parang ‘di naman formal ‘yon. Pero it was my intention talaga to encourage you. I wanted you to know na kahit ‘di man tayo magkakilala in person, pero I respect you for who you are, I respect you even noong nagkaroon ka ng ganitong mistake and I just believe na you can turn it around because you’re in a position of inspiring people. In fact, I found out talaga na you helped a lot of people during this time and even no’ng mga dati pa na when you had the opportunity to do it,” he said.
He then went on to impart the virtue he swears by, which is to love other people as how you want yourself to be loved, and even revealed being a recipient of bashings after posting his open letter, too. Adrian also discussed how kindness is indeed a decision and how we should instead “just spread good vibes and kindness”.
Kim also brought DJ Squammy, the one who put the groovy and “solid” beat on her much talked about speech, in the conversation and asked him to share what inspired him to do it. He enthusiastically narrated the creation process and told her that he fully understood what she wanted to say during that time despite stuttering.
“Ako naman kasi ang goal ko do’n, pagandahin ‘yong pinagkakaguluhan nila na ‘yon. Ewan ko ba’t binabash ka nila do’n e tutuusin, para sa akin, pwede namang palampasin na ‘yon e. ‘Di ba? Marami ka namang good points do’n sa interview. Ewan ko, ba’t pinapansin nila. Hayaan mo na lang sila kasi ganyan talaga,” he related.
Admitting that she initially got annoyed upon learning that her speech was turned into a novelty song, to which a lot of netizens has already danced to, the Kapamilya star revealed appreciating it eventually as she saw how many people, including her nieces, have enjoyed it.
Since the remix version of her “Bawal Lumabas” statement has been a success, as well as heeding to the suggestion of Adrian to turn it into a hit, she proposed for them to collaborate for its highly requested full version. Thus, the “Bawal Lumabas: The Classroom Song” was born.
After giving their parting words for her and regarding what happened, as well as Kim expressing her desire to meet both of them personally, the music video and full version of “Bawal Lumabas: The Classroom Song” debuted.
Watch this video for you to see what transpired during their inspiring and fun conversation, as well as the uplifting and groovy full version of “Bawal Lumabas: The Classroom Song” sang by Kim, written by Adrian, with beats by DJ Squammy, and its MV shot at Kim’s abode.
