It was in 1997 when Star Magic thought of coming up with its own catalogue of stars.
Over the years, nag-evolve ang theme ng catalogue, both in aesthetics and in style. In terms of color palette, we did black and white, nude and colorful. In terms of look, we tried the no make look and mayroon din namang all glammed up. We also did portrait, full body and mid range photos.
During the early years, naka-akma sa packaging or imaging ng artist ang pag-style sa kanila. But now mas mayroong sense of individuality.
Aside from the inside pages and the cover, the size also changed through the years. It used to be called a yearbook. Hard-bound ito, may spring sa gilid just like a notebook. Pero dahil costly siya, ninipisan namin ito into magazine size. There was even a year when it was printed in Star Studio Magazine. Last year, we got into the digital scene with our first ever e-catalogue. The catalogue was usually launched during the Star Magic Ball. Because of this we had two covers. We had the signature logo cover na pinamimigay sa Ball at mayroon ding artists ang cover na binebenta sa bookstores.
Since the late 90s, Star Magic has released a total of 21 catalogues. This year's catalogue is our 22nd and no less than the father of Star Magic himself, Mr M, has been consistently on top of the catalogue as our Editor-In-Chief.
