Certainly, the childhood of the 90s kids out there would not be complete without us experiencing a lot of cheap thrills then, such as playing and getting dirty outdoors with our playmates, eating piso snacks, and watching a slew of animated series and educational programs that used to occupy most of the timeslots of every local channel we know.
Sadly, majority of kids and teens nowadays weren’t able to enjoy these stuff since they were absolutely attached to their gadgets, wherein they could easily interact with other people, play games, and watch various online content in just a few clicks.
Thus, for those who are missing their childhood or those who have skipped doing childhood stuff, we’re going to take you back the nineties through this video featuring five artists from Star Magic who enthusiastically demonstrated how to create the classic plastic balloon.
From opening the small packet containing the gum, to putting a portion of it at the tip of the short stick included in the kit, to sucking it into the mouth, and finally, to blowing it until the balloon inflates to desired sized and rigidity, seasoned talents McCoy de Leon, Loisa Andalio, and Kathryn Bernardo, as well as newbies and Star Magic Batch 2019 members Eisel Serrano and Kendru Garcia, unabashedly reminded or taught us how to play with plastic balloon.
Well, whether we believe or not, today’s Box Office Queen Kathryn not only enjoyed it when she was still an adorable kid, but even now that she’s all grown up and very successful. The Queen of Hearts confessed that playing plastic balloon actually helped her cope with the sadness and homesickness she felt while filming the highest top-grossing Filipino movie of all-time “Hello, Love, Goodbye” in Hong Kong.
