For sure, many of you already miss seeing Elisse Joson in an interview, right? Thus, Star Magic recently caught up with her in the latest episode of News ‘To Ko ‘Yan, which was also streamed in the Pinoy community platform KUMU last Saturday, October 10.
The fun conversation commenced with the actress defining what “Tatak Star Magic” means for her, proudly describing everyone in the reputable talent agency as talented and kindhearted.
“Bukod sa, siyempre, lahat ng taga-Star Magic kahit ‘yong mga handlers namin and mga RMs (road managers) very talented. Bukod do’n, para sa’kin ang pagiging Tatak Star Magic e ‘yong pagiging totoong tao and pagkakaroon ng puso. Hindi lang pagkakaroon ng talent, may puso kapag Tatak Star Magic,” she stated.
She then went on to talk about her latest single “Halika Na” under Star Pop, which she recorded amid the pandemic (with safety precautions!). There’s no definite schedule yet on to when they are going to shoot its music video, but they’re already fixing schedule for it to finally push through soon.
Aside from new music, another project that we should watch for from Elisse is the digital series “Beauty and The Boss” that can be streamed on iflix starting next month.
“Exciting kasi first time ko siyang (Gino) maka-work and siyempre ngayon sa pandemic gusto natin makapanood tayo ng magpapagaan lang ng ating mga buhay-buhay, magpapasaya sa’tin, magpapakilig. So gano’n ‘yong feel,” she related when asked regarding how she feels about it and working with her new leading man Pinoy Big Brother Otso alumnus Gino Roque.
Furthermore, she also imparted the story behind her food business venture Bites by Stylisse. According to her, she was supposedly planning to establish her own clothing brand since she took up fashion design in college. However, considering the time she has to spend in coming up with various creations along with her showbiz commitments, it didn’t materialize. Thus, they just decided to open a restobar last year since they are both fond of cooking and eating.
And as the COVID-19 pandemic terribly hit the country this year, her business was affected as well. But it didn’t hinder her from continuing her passion in cooking and baking as they turned it into home-based and in helping those who are in need.
“During kasi the pandemic, feeling ko even though lahat tayo may pinagdadaanan, sabi ko, ‘gusto ko pa ring merong magawa. So siyempre, ‘di naman ako makakatulong in a way na tulad ng mga frontliners natin na nando’n talaga mismo at tumutulong physically. Pero naisip ko, to do something kahit maliit na bagay,” the 24-year-old actress said.
Then she added, “Nag-Google lang ako ng mga NGOs dito sa atin. Ni-research ko, binasa ko po ‘yung backgrounds nila at ‘yong mga nagawa nila, and I found Food For The Hungry Philippines. Fini-finalize na namin ‘yong details kung saan ‘yong lugar na tutulungan para magkaroon ng feeding program. And dahil nga po pandemic [at] bawal ang mass gathering, I think what we’re just gonna do is magde-deliver sa bahay-bahay instead of feeding program na nando’n ‘yong mga tao sa isang lugar.”
Apart from talking about her endeavors, Elisse also enthusiastically took on the fun games Star Magic prepared for her.
First was “Fill In The Blanks Challenge”, in which she had to name five people dear to heart to whom she would say “Halika na __ at…” Then the “Fast Talk”, wherein she was asked to choose on “dogs or cats”, “Twitter or Instagram”, “Manila or Bataan”, “Fashion or Cooking”, and “Cheesecake or Smores”.
The chikahan concluded with her revealing the things she’s yearning to do, such as studying again, travelling around the world, and finding her purpose in life. She also disclosed her dream role, which is portraying a character with split personality.
