Kapamilya sweetheart Francine Diaz enjoyed her ‘haba ng hair’ moments as three leading men KD Estrada, BGYO Akira, and Ashton Salvador joined her in the fourth episode of “Kilig Match” benefit show.
“Kilig Match'' is the third phase of ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN Foundation’s fundraising drive for survivors of Super Typhoon Odette. To make the night more entertaining, the featured artists took on fun challenges and serenaded viewers for every target amount of diamonds donated to live streaming app Kumu.
The quartet will star in the digital series “Bola-Bola,” which according to Francine tackles all kinds of love from teenage romance to self-love and love for family and friends. On working with three onscreen partners, Francine said there’s pressure but she’s also happy to be paired with them.
Francine promised to bring fans something fresh and exciting. She’d be wearing a fat suit for her character. Akira relates to his role as a music lover. KD will play Francine’s childhood friend and also into music but is more shy than Akira. The guys are thankful to be given the opportunity to star in a series opposite one of today’s beloved teen leading ladies. Ashton mentioned he asks acting tips from cousin Daniel Padilla.
The cast is set to begin taping in a few days, so they’d be spending Valentine’s Day in their bubble. Francine plans to celebrate the most romantic day of the year by virtual date with best friend Jayda Avanzado.
Taking on the first challenge, the heartthrobs proved compatibility by guessing Francine’s favorites. Akira impressed in the first round by guessing Francine’s favorite drink, which is mango juice. The two also shared inside jokes throughout the episode, so much that host Darla Sauler got intrigued. Francine and Akira revealed they’d often see each other during auditions when they were kids, although they rarely talked. Their moms are also close.
Moving on to the next rounds, Francine said her dream getaway is a museum tour, thus it’s also her ideal first date. She would love to watch One Direction in a concert, giving a point to Akira who mentioned Harry Styles.
KD also earned a point when he said Francine would love to learn basketball while Ashton guessed her dream movie remake.
The guest stars had ‘kilig’ revelations in the next game called “Put the Finger Down.” The guys talked about their puppy love, giving flowers and love letters to a girl, and crying over a special someone. Youngsters like them also check out their crushes online and exchange late-night text messages.
Francine, on the other hand, promised she would never cry over a boy. But the biggest effort she made for a crush was to meet him up with friends after a tiring day at work. She also watched a former crush’s favorite movies to impress him.
For the next challenge, Francine would choose the best leading man based on different categories. She thought Ashton is the most romantic among the three because she’s seen how protective and caring he is to their friends from The Squad Plus. He’s also the most secretive “kasi tahimik lang.”
On who’s most “takaw-tulog,” Francine chose Akira “kasi minsan may reply siya ng 3 am,” to which Darla reacted, “So magka-text kayo?” Akira explained they just talked about their song number for the episode.
Darla asked the three guys to defend why they’re boyfriend material. KD answered, “May libreng guitar lessons ka sa akin.” Akira said, “Ma-effort akong tao kahit mahiyain, sweet at madaling mapatawa.” Meanwhile, Ashton described himself as God-fearing, family-oriented, and protective.
The heartthrobs levelled up the ‘kilig’ by serenading viewers. Francine also shared a duet with KD and Akira.
