As exciting as it is to see your favorite celebrities all glammed up, showbiz’s biggest event of the year is more than just a fancy party. Last year, the proceeds from the Ball was used for the rehabilitation of the Bantay Bata Children’s Village. Now, ABS-CBN Ball 2019 aims to raise funds for the Bantay Edukasyon program which has provided 6,400 scholarship since 1998. And these Kapamilya heartthrobs all agree that education is necessary.
Yves Flores talked about how education cannot be bought but can be used in every stage of life, “’Yun lang dadalhin mo pagtanda.” Kadenang Ginto star Seth Fedelin added that most parents have to make sacrifices for their children to graduate which is why one cannot let this opportunity to go to waste. If you need motivation, PBB Otso’s Andre Brouilette explained that this is an essential tool when reaching for your dreams. Meanwhile, Ronnie Alonte shared that not having a bachelor’s degree is one of his regrets. “May mga punto talaga minsan na tatamarin ka pero kailangan mo talaga mag-aral kasi pagsisisihan mo sa huli,” he offered.
For Marco Gumabao, this is a win-win situation for everyone. While they bond with their family, friends and co-leagues in the industry, they are also changing lives. “One fun night of ABS-CBN Ball can help thousands of kids,” the “Just A Stranger” star stated.
Aside from this, Enrique Gil and Jake Cuenca both feel that this is the best way to honor the late chairperson of ABS-CBN Foundation and founder of Bantay Bata 163, Gina Lopez. As celebrities and role models, the Los Bastardos star believes it is their job to continue her legacy. “We are still here, and we will continue to fight for Bantay Bata and our children’s future,” Enrique ended.
