Vitto Neri and Luis Vera Perez on why showbiz blood is no big deal, wish to carve their own path

Kapamilya Chat gets up close and personal with two of the 40 artists who recently signed for Star Magic during the Black Pen Day event. We introduce to you Vitto Neri and Luis Vera Perez – promising young men whose talent, creativity, and passion run in the blood.

To quench your curiosity, here’s Vitto and Luis’ family background. Vitto is the son of actor Victor Neri, who was part of the pioneer batch of ABS-CBN’s then Talent Center while Luis is the son of Jose Vera Perez and half-brother of Lander Vera Perez.

Although showbiz scions, these rising stars would want to step out of the shadows and carve their own paths. And we know they surely can! Vitto and Luis said they are grateful and overwhelmed to finally be part of Star Magic – a dream come true for every aspiring artist.

Vitto’s romance with acting started in 2018 when he underwent a workshop. In the same year, he took on a role in his father’s film. He said working with his dad for his acting initiation was nerve-wracking because if there’s one person he would want to please, it would be none other than Victor.

That said, Vitto takes motivation than pressure from his actor dad. It helps that his goal is to make his own mark than just follow his father’s exact footsteps. “He talked to me about it and siguro growing up I realized that I’m my own person. No one can be Victor Neri. No matter how hard I try, I cannot achieve what he achieved. I can’t be him. He can’t be me.” Victor’s advice to him is to just work hard and enjoy the journey.

Vitto looks forward to working with some of the best actors and actresses in the industry, and he knows Star Magic can provide him that experience. He’s excited to explore his craft all the while learning. On his acting bucket list is to share the screen with FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano star John Arcilla, Paulo Avelino, and, of course, Luis. He also dreams to star in an action project.

Similar to that of Vitto, an acting workshop was also Luis’ entryway to showbiz. It was a fun experience for him meeting new friends and big personalities while honing his newfound passion.

The two, who’s ultimate idol is John Lloyd Cruz, have been friends prior to becoming official Star Magic stars. Vitto revealed that Luis was shy in the beginning. Luis would admit so, saying the workshops helped him become more confident. Luis, who wishes to explore drama, is now excited to work with showbiz’s finest including Daniel Padilla, Joshua Garcia, and John Lloyd.

Apart from acting, Vitto and Luis also have the talent for music. Workshops indeed play a vital role in honing potentials, besides the lessons that shape one’s character. Luis learned from workshops that pain can be used as fuel to portray his role more effectively.

Luis will be part of the upcoming Kapamilya series Marry Me Marry You  topbilled by Paulo Avelino and Janine Gutierrez, also starring new Kapamilyas Sunshine Dizon and Jake Ejercito. The cast was done with their firs lock-in taping cycle. So far, everything’s going smooth and exciting for the newcomer. Luis mentioned that they all have good camaraderie and his co-stars have contagious passion.

The sky’s the limit for these showbiz neophytes. After all, they describe themselves as hardworking and passionate.
