Because of the pandemic, Maris Racal discovered that she can be stricter than her parents. The Pamilya Ko star used to be more relax, but her attitude quickly shifted when the community quarantine took effect. “Tapos naging matigas ‘yung ulo nila. Hindi ko alam bakit naging ganoon ‘yung mga parents,” she revealed. This is only the first fact that Maris shared in this episode of Kapamilya Confessions!
Every rookie actor in the entertainment industry has struggles. For her, it was insecurities, stage fright, and reservations about portraying certain roles. The Kapamilya actress also had to face criticisms and bashing. Of course, she eventually overcame these. Nowadays, one way she handles bashers is by ignoring them. She would think about how there are other more important issues in the world, “Imbes na magalit ako, parang naaawa na lang ako sa kanila.”
When asked which celebrities she wants to be close with, Maris first named Angelica Panganiban. She hopes to receive advice in life and show business from the Banana Sundae star. Then Tony Gonzaga, “Makausap ko lang si Tony parang okay na ko.” As well as her “president” Nadine Lustre, who she can’t help but fangirl over.
Meanwhile, she has gotten close with her co-stars on the iWant series “Beauty Queens.” Initially, Maris felt some pressure since the cast included Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, Miss Universe Philippines 2016 Maxine Medina, and Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 Winwyn Marquez. After some time, she has gotten more comfortable around them, particularly with Winwyn who happens to be Joey Marquez’s daughter. The same Joey Marquez who portrays Maris’ on-screen father on Pamilya Ko. “Sobrang kwela pala ni Miss Gloria Diaz,” she added.
Some fans wanted to know how Maris maintains her sexy figure. “Siguro ganito lang ‘yung katawan ko kasi sa edad ko,” she explained. Admittedly, she has gained some belly fat during the community quarantine. Her tip is to find your good angle when taking pictures!
If you are waiting to hear some new music from her, she is planning to release a song that is perfect for people who are in love. As for any future collaborations, she hopes to work with Moira dela Torre. The “Malaya” singer did listen to some of Maris’ songs in the past. “Natutuwa ako at kinikilig ako kasi sobrang nagustuhan niya,” she said. Since then, whenever she has a new single, Moira would leave encouraging comments. “Release muna ako ng more songs bago kami mag-write together kasi nahihiya pa ko,” she added.
