In light of her much-awaited stints in Huwag Kang Mangamba and The Broken Marriage Vow, as well as her 25th birthday celebration last July 22, Jane Oineza enthusiastically graced the latest episode of PUSH Bets Live!
The fun and insightful chikahan commenced with the self-confessed workaholic actress sharing how happy she has been busy with work nowadays, even though she had to celebrate her birthday in their lock-in taping for The Broken Marriage Vow in Baguio City. They may have to celebrate it separately, yet her boyfriend RK Bagatsing made sure to make it still special by surprising her with gifts that he sent at the hotel where she and her co-stars were being billeted.
She went on to talk about the projects she’d been working on recently, starting off with Huwag Kang Mangamba, wherein she astounded us with her portrayal of the mysterious and vengeful Rose Aguilar, a.k.a. Emily Abuel.
“I had so much fun during the guesting and na-excite din akong gawin ‘tong role na ‘to kasi it’s something different from what I’ve done din dahil misteryoso siya, marami siyang revenge, nagplo-plot siya ng revenge. So, parang first time ko ‘yong nagawa,” Jane related.
When it comes to her experience working with the cast and crew of the well-loved primetime series, she imparted how much she enjoyed and loved being part of it, making it difficult for her to leave their bubble. Thus, she’s hopeful to be given the opportunity to come back and work with them again.
With the slew of projects pouring onto her amidst the pandemic, the 25-year-old versatile actress has nothing but gratitude for her Star Magic and ABS-CBN family and wishes that these blessings will just continue despite the challenges imposed by the difficult situation we’re currently in.
The conversation then veered to her highly anticipated participation in the Filipino adaptation of the British series “Doctor Foster” – The Broken Marriage Vow – wherein she’s going to astound us anew with her portrayal of Dianne Riagon, the patient-slash-spy of protagonist Dra. Jillian Ilustre’s (Jodi Sta. Maria) and the battered girlfriend of Joem Bascon’s character Enzo Tierra. She shared that they just finished the first cycle of their lock-in taping and she’s looking forward on seeing the outcome of the scenes they had taken.
Jane also relayed that her character is different from its British and South Korean counterparts as Director Connie Macatuno tweaked the characterization and gave it a different vibe and appearance, which makes it more exciting.
“Simula pa lang pero ramdam ko na ‘yong pagiging family namin – from the directors, the staff, the crew, and the artist that I’m with,” she said when asked regarding her experience on doing the show. “I’m also blessed because I get to work with super gagaling, super hinahangaan na mga artista dito sa industry natin. I’m excited to collaborate more with them sa mga susunod pa na taping namin.”
With the lock-in taping setup being the new trend in television and movie production since the country is still under community quarantine, the Goin Bulilit alumna was asked about the pros and cons of it. For the advantages, the award-winning actress mentioned that it enables her to save more money for her gas and toll expenses. It also allows the whole team to prepare well and make the most out of the time they are on location and the artists to remain in their character since they are on “work mode” most of the time.
On the other hand, the disadvantages of this setup is the sepanx (or separation anxiety) it inflicts to everyone since they wouldn’t be able to see their family for a long time.
Aside from keeping herself busy with The Broken Marriage Vow, Jane is also doing a movie with bankable heartthrob Tony Labrusca entitled “You’re Mine”.
Her PUSH Bets Live guesting capped off with her taking on the “Pinush Ko o Di Ko Pinush” Challenge, wherein she had to disclose whether she’s guilty or not guilty in situations mentioned by the host.
The activities that she “pushed” were skipping a meal because she’s on a diet, staying up late till 6AM because of watching series, responding to bashers, crying due to anger and annoyance, being lazy on replying to messages and answering calls, and always having second thoughts on posting in social media.
Meanwhile, she hasn’t pushed yet kissing her phone’s screen because of the thrilling message she received, being late on call-times, and stalking someone on social media. However, when it comes to being jealous, she explained that it’s in between.
