Hotspot: Just girly things and a healthy “banana fritters” cooking demo with Joj and Jai Agpangan

Almost a decade later, Joj and Jai Agpangan remain the funny and adorable twins we all loved watching on Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 4, only more beautiful and confident.

In this episode of Hotspot, the lovable tandem kept it real with DJ Jhai Ho as they talked about their romantic life, small business, and simple living in the province.

The former PBB babes said they’re excited for the show’s next season and for the lucky housemates who made it to the top 12. Their teenage selves had so much fun while inside the house and they know the new batch will experience the same. They advised those who didn’t make it to take baby steps in building their platform and never stop believing that there’s always something better in store for them.

Real friendships are built inside Kuya’s house as well. Joj and Jai keep in touch with their batchmates via group chat and they are ‘ninangs’ to Karen Reyes’ kids.

Joj revealed that she’s in a relationship and she hopes he’s the one. It’s her first ‘legal’ relationship, saying she used to keep her past boyfriends a secret from her strict parents. Meanwhile, Jai, the one who likes moreno guys and said she’s recently ghosted, has been single for four years now.

The twins don’t hide anything from each other. After all, they are each other’s best friend and best adviser. So, while talking about their love life, Joj had so much to reveal about her sister. She disclosed Jai and ex-PBB housemate Alec Dungo’s past. According to her, she came as a third wheel on their first date and had to pretend going to the ladies’ room to give them privacy.

Sometimes they share the same crushes, too. They both like Robi Domingo. But their ultimate crushes would have to be Donny Pangilinan for Joj and Justin Vasquez for Jai.

The sisters are admired for their toned bodies which they credit to a consistent workout regimen. They aren’t strict with dieting but take at least 7 litres of water daily. Joj further stressed that confidence starts with self-love and not comparing yourself to others.

Besides their online campaigns, Joj and Jai are busy running their small cookie business in Bacolod. Between the two of them, the single gal Jai cooks better, thus they don’t believe in the old saying that a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. What makes a man fall in love, then? “Kailangan awra,” they quipped.

They showed off their cooking skills by giving a healthier spin on the familiar “banana fritters” recipe. Instead of slicing (typically “fanned” or in half), they opted to mash the bananas to make them softer.

For the batter, they combined the eggs, a cup of milk, 1 tbsp. baking soda, and pancake mix. Add the mashed bananas. Scoop about 1/2cup of the mixture and pour in the pan. Fry both sides until golden brown. Serve, drizzled with honey!
