Jimuel Pacquiao is finally stepping into the spotlight and building his own career as a Kapamilya star! He already has an Instagram presence and a YouTube channel with almost half a million subscribers. What is his next step?
He has always been interested in learning how to act. “Sabi rin nila, while you’re still young, it’s okay to try a lot of things,” he said. After joining workshops, he decided to pursue this career path with the full support of his parents. In fact, Manny and Jinkee Pacquiao both prefer show business over boxing for Jimuel. “Pagdating sa boxing sobrang takot sila. Like ayaw talaga nilang mag-boxing ako,” he revealed.
Admittedly, however, there is a lot of pressure on his shoulders because of his last name. “Hindi po kasi maiiwasan ‘yung mga expectations ng mga ibang tao,” he explained. Jimuel deals with this by focusing his energy on being the best version of himself, “I just try to be myself.” Especially in boxing, most people expect him to be talented. “I don’t want to be known as Manny’s son lang,” he continued.
The young celebrity’s dream is a series like FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. He is a big fan of action but is willing to try other genres too like romantic comedy. Luckily, his two biggest fans are ready to support him no matter what. “Keep working hard,” Mary Pacquaio said. “Dream big. Have fun,” Queenie Pacquiao added. As soon as it is safe and COVID-19 is no longer a threat, Jimuel is ready to start acting. “I’ve been looking forward to it for a long time na tapos nahinto lang because of this pandemic,” he stated.
For now, he is busy bonding with his family during this community quarantine. Jimuel and his sisters have been baking and gardening. He also tries to stay productive by having a daily routine. At the end of the day, these are challenging times, but it is important for him to find the good things in life. He believes that we are still blessed in other ways. “I personally got to have plenty of time with my family. Tapos ngayon parang mas closer naman kami lahat,” he ended.
