Fans were first curious about why Maja Salvador and Janella Salvador share the same family name when they co-starred in the 2019 horror-gothic-suspense romance drama The Killer Bride.
Are they related, they would ask. When the series began, Maja ended all speculation by confirming they are relatives in an interview with PUSH.
“(‘Yung) lolo ko, sana tama ako, lolo niya magkapatid. So malayo. Pero ‘pag pinagdugtong-dugtong mo, magkamag-anak pa rin kami. Hindi (magpinsan), tita niya ata ako?,” she pointed out.
But even though their family connection was a bit hazy, Maja and Janella shared an endearing and close bond that seemed even more unbreakable than clear blood relatives. As they were doing the show, Maja and Janella have since considered each other as close family.
In these photos, we notice that wonderful closeness they share—showing how much they have supported each other through thick and thin. They impart such “sisterly” love to each other that transcends even beyond the screen. In an Instagram post, Janella shared her admiration for Maja, “You are now my ate, my tita & my Mama Camilla,” referring to Maja’s character in The Killer Bride, who turned out to be the mother of Janella’s character Emma/Vida.
And we have felt and witnessed that heartwarming bond when Janella and partner Markus Paterson gave Maja their first on-screen interview together about their love story and life as new parents to their newborn baby Jude in a Star Magic exclusive livestream on Thursday, January 7.
