After mesmerizing us with their glitzy and debonair looks in the Star Magical Ball last March and made our summer more scorching with their sexiness and hotness during the Hot Summer LaHot Sexy party early this May, the versatile artists of Star Magic went on to show off their athletic facets through their participation in the Star Magic All-Star Games 2023 held on Sunday, May 21, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Kicking off the Star Magic All-star Games 2023 was the badminton event comprised of three levels: beginners, intermediate and competitive. For the Beginners Level, the tandem of Aiyana Perlas and Kerwin King was named the 2nd runner-up, while besties Darren Espanto and AC Bonifacio were the first runners-up. The duo of JM Yosures and Karen Bordador was named the grand champion, with the Tawag Ng Tanghalan Season 4 ultimate champion proving that he’s not just a talented singer, but also a badminton player as he was named the most valuable player (MVP). It was Ashley Colet who was declared the MVP for the Intermediate Level, as she and her partner Maxine Trinidad showed intense girl power and snagged the championship. Teammates Luke Alford and Gabb Birkin were the first runners-up, while loveteam Zach Guerrero and Seham Daghlas were the second runners-up. The amazing tandem of Neil Coleta and Chico Alicaya aced the Competitive Level, with Neil being announced as the MVP. The combo of PJ Endrinal and Poppert Bernadas placed 1st runner-up, while Gello Marquez and Marlo Mortel took on the 2nd runner-up spot.
This was followed by the rookie basketball game between the Star Hunt Mixed Rookies and the Star Magic Mixed Rookies and then the volleyball face-off between Star Magic Lady Setters and Star Magic Lady Spikers. Despite injuries, Ashton Salvador still managed to lead his Star Magic team to the championship and become the MVP. Ashton was also named one of the Mythical 5, along with Star Hunt’s Tristan Ramirez and Elyson de Dios, and his Star Magic teammates River Joseph and Tan Roncal. The Rookie of the Year trophy went to Luke Alford from Star Magic. The championship title was given to Star Magic Mixed Rookies.
The last – and the most exciting part was the basketball showdown between Star Magic Dream Team and It’s Showtime Team, which served as the main event. There were also intermission numbers from some of our favorite Kapamilya artists in between the three sports events.
