ABS-CBN’s premiere talent agency, Star Magic, once again treated fans with its annual epic sporting event that showcases the athletic sides of some of our favorite Kapamilya artists that we probably do not usually see – the highly anticipated Star Magic All-Star Games 2024!
And for its staging this year, which was held on Sunday, June 2, at the Araneta Coliseum, we got to witness an intense triple-header featuring the gorgeous and fierce Star Magic ladies as they battled it out in the volleyball event, as well as the dashing and hunky Star Magic gents as they vied for the championship versus the gregarious members of the It’s Showtime fam and the Team Payaman in the basketball event.
There were two teams in each event, with the Star Magic volleybelles being divided into Star Magic Lady Setters, led by BINI Mikha Lim and Linlang actress Anji Salvacion, and Star Magic Lady Spikers, spearheaded by Vivoree and Loisa Andalio.
Mikha and Anji were joined by Reign Parani, Sela Guia, Moira Lacambra, Nicole San Juan, Brenda Mage, Janah Zaplan, Isabel Laohoo, Krystl Ball, Erin Navarro, and Fifi Sharma; while Vivoree and Loisa were joined by Thamara Alexandria, Leona Andalio, Awra Briguela, Angela Ken, Analain Salvador, Ai Dela Cruz, Nikki Valdez, Dani Ravena, and Celine Domingo.
We got to witness two action-packed basketball games, as the first game was between Star Magic Team Shooting Stars Blue with promising leading men Donny Pangilinan and Ronnie Alonte as the frontrunners and Cong’s Anbilibabol Basketball Team with Cong Velasquez as the playing coach.
Completing the Team Shooting Stars Blue were Seth Fedelin, DJ Jimmy Nocon, Tan Roncal, Isaiah dela Cruz, Dustine Mayores, River Joseph, Kobie Brown, LA Santos, Joao Constancia and BGYO Mikki Claver; while Cong had fellow content creators Burong, Nelson Mendoza, Dudut Lang, Boss Keng, Steve Wijayawickrama, Matthaios, Carding Magsino, Junnie Boy, Mentos, Bok, Chris Lagudas, and Yow under his wing.
The main basketball game, meanwhile, was between Star Magic Team Shooting Stars Red and Team It's Showtime All Stars. Joining mainstays Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario in the Team Showtime were Eruption, Derrick Hubalde, Wendell Ramos, Polo Laurel, Vitto Marquez, Kid Yambao, Nyoy Volante, Ronnie Alonte, JC de Vera, JC de Vera, Ryan Bang, and Ion Perez. On the other hand, the Team Shooting Stars Red was comprised of Gerald Anderson, RK Bagatsing, Jeremiah Lisbo, Tristan Ramirez, Miko Raval, Elyson de Dios, Young JV Kapunan, Lance Carr, Argel Saycon, LA Nepomuceno, and Ashton Salvador.
Gracing the event with their stunning splendor as muses were Krissy Achino for Cong's Anbilibabol, Francine Diaz for Star Magic Blue Team, Barbie Imperial for Star Magic Red Team, and Lassy for It’s Showtime. Meanwhile, up-and-coming local boy group WRIVE and “Nation’s Girl Group” BINI entertained spectators with their production numbers.
VJ Ai Dela Cruz and Migs Bustos served as hosts, while Aiyana Perlas and Karen Bordador as courtside anchors for basketball and volleyball respectively.
