Don’t be surprised if the rookie loveteam of Kobie Brown and Andi Abaya soars higher from here.

Armed with much-improved acting skills and their naturally mesmerizing chemistry, KoDrea impressed big time as the lead stars of Love Bites' “Miss Astrologer” episode, which tells the story of a love seemingly written in the stars.

Kristine (Andi), born with psychic abilities, has fallen sick of love and heartbreaks. She vowed not to get into a relationship again after a traumatizing breakup, especially not with her fellow intern Eli (Kobie) who carries a huge red flag by being an excellent flirt. But, guided by horoscopes and her strong fascination with astrology to determine compatibility, she said ‘yes’ to her fellow Scorpio. She learned that they both postponed their supposed internship last year because of a ‘sign’ from the universe. Thus, she was all the more convinced that meeting him is destiny.

Kristine turned her psychic abilities into a career while Eli had an office job. The relationship was sweet and happy at first until he got involved in a controversy at work. He decided to pursue a job in Singapore, leaving the relationship in a much more challenging LDR setup. Nevertheless, it didn’t break Kristine’s belief that she’s got lucky for having Eli as her boyfriend. The stars always know, and she listens to them.

However, there are decisions in life that even the planets can’t control like Eli cheating on Kristine. She sensed it. Later on, Kristine would get a sweet surprise. Eli showed up to ask for a second chance, coinciding with their horoscope reading that says they can fix what’s broken. It could be a sign.

But she figured he went back to the Philippines due to a setback at work and not really to be with her. Kristine made a decision, this time, listening to her heart than the signs. Yes, she will fix what’s broken – her broken sense of self-love.

With on-point performances from its two leads, “Love Bites: Miss Astrologer” will make you smile, it will make you cry, and it will serve you ‘kilig.’ No bells and whistles, it’s a straightforward story that focuses on the pros and cons of relying on cosmic guides over significant decisions in life.

The plot twist at the end was a pleasant, bittersweet surprise that brought out the best in Kobie and Andi. The latter was especially impressive in her crying scenes. You’d fall in love with the last sequence where she poured all her emotions, set in a romantic tree-lined avenue. With huge improvement in his Tagalog and acting skills, Kobie managed to keep up with his naturally talented loveteam partner.

Those who are still doubtful of the PBB alums’ potential will get what they are looking for in this “Love Bites” episode.
