Spotlight on Enchong Dee

Aside from AJ, Enchong also has two younger siblings whom he fondly calls by their nickname Ice and Angie.

According to Ice and Angie, Enchong is the type to be the strict Kuya who imposes rules for them to follow.
But even though he may seem strict, most of the time, Enchong, according to them, makes up for it by spending precious time with his siblings either by watching movies or just by strolling in the mall.

Enchong himself recognizes the fact that he can be a little bit of a bully and a strict Kuya.
But according to him, his gestures are bound with a good intention, which is to inculcate good values to his siblings including respect and thoughtfulness.

One of Mommy Tess and Daddy’s Sonny’s consistent advice to Enchong was to put his hard earned money from showbiz into good use.

This is probably the reason why Enchong, even at such a young age, managed to silently put up a few properties and more recently, his own restaurant.

Enchong, dreamer as he was, originally thought of putting up a coffee shop where he could relax and chill. But destiny seemed to have a different plan for him when he met his non-showbiz business partner Dom Hernandez a few years back.

While brainstorming for his dream coffee shop, it hit Enchong that what he originally thought of would not work. Luckily, he and Dom were dining at the home branch of his restaurant at that time and he spotted an invitation for franchise afterwards.

Right then and there they decided that they would team up for the first time to franchise their very own Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken branch.

Enchong opened his first-ever Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken branch in SM Megamall seven months ago and, according to him, the rest is history.

As with the other things that he has ventured on, Enchong picked up several lessons from being a restaurateur and eventually applied it to being a celebrity.

He agrees that similar to how restaurants do it, celebrities should also learn to take care of their clients or in their case, their audience. This, according to him, cane be done by elebs by giving them quality performances and leaving them with feelings that they can bring with them anywhere they go.

Unlike many teens his age, at that time, Enchong neither wanted nor imagined to be famous.
And so when he got into the business, a few years after his Kuya AJ, he was very resistant to the “system” that is filled with long working hours and loads of controversies.

Despite that obvious reluctance, Enchong knew right from the get go that he wanted to become a millionaire. That idea, in a way, helped him push through with the first two years of being in the business.
All his “problems” and “concerns” of the business though started dissipating on his third year in showbiz.
Enchong admitted that he suddenly realized that all his issues with show business were actually not exclusive to it. If anything, even other people from different industries suffer from the same dilemma.
What obviously changed was not the situation but Enchong’s perspective. Then he eventually came to appreciate how the “system” was slowly honing him to become a strong person and to develop that necessary passion for the job in order to survive in the business.
