Dexter (Joem Bascon)’s group takes down a lot of properties in Barrio Maulap. Seeing how devastated the townsmen are, Mang Greggy (Joel Torre) drives to Manila and convinces Teresa to come home. He enlightens Teresa by telling her that she couldn’t run away from her conscience and leaving the people behind would only aggravate the weight of her shortcomings. Mang Greggy tells his daughter that the best thing to do is to iron things out and try to make it up to the residents of Barrio Maulap.
News about Teresa’s homecoming spread around Barrio Maulap. Everyone is greeted with a sense of hope now that Teresa, who they consider as hero and savior, is back. Teresa boldly appears at the plaza where the homeless residents stay.
Facing the people of Barrio Maulap, Teresa risks her reputation by coming clean about sabotaging the town’s livelihood. She admits that the drastic fall of the town’s economic state including the death of poultry animals and agricultural plants were all part of her scheme. Teresa cries and seeks the town’s forgiveness.
The confession forces the townsfolk to resent Teresa. Mang Ambo says Teresa would only lose her title and job but the victims have been deprived of shelter and livelihood.
Doc Philip (Raymart Santiago) stands in Teresa’s defense and pleads the citizens to give her a second chance. But the people are too outraged to listen. Everyone gangs up on Teresa.
