Now that Dexter (Joem Bascon) has successfully held Starla (Jana Agoncillo) in captive, he knows nothing will be able to save Barrio Maulap anymore – neither a miracle nor Teresa (Judy Ann Santos). Dexter manages to discard the TRO filed by the Barrio Maulap residents and starts ordering his team to demolish the properties. The townsfolk are left without a choice but to give in to Dexter’s cruelty, scared that fighting back may only result to more harm.
Seeing how devastated the townsmen are, Mang Greggy (Joel Torre) drives to Manila and tries to convince Teresa to come home. He enlightens her and tells her that she couldn’t run away from her conscience and leaving the people behind would only aggravate the weight of her shortcomings. Mang Greggy tells his daughter that the best thing to do is to iron things out and try to make it up to the residents of Barrio Maulap.
As soon as Teresa arrives home, the first thing she does is apologize to Buboy for depriving his parents with justice. Teresa admits drowning in remorse and shame as she realizes how ruthless she has become. She adds that Mang Greggy made her understand that she needs to face the people she hurt.
Teresa kneels down as she speaks to Buboy and explains that she was just too blinded with the desire to prove her worth as a lawyer. In return, Buboy accepts Teresa’s apology and he also says sorry for acting rude towards her. Buboy expresses that Teresa’s willingness to make things right proves that she isn’t bad at all.
