One of the greatest wishes that we, alongside Buboy (Enzo Pelojero), hope would soon come true is for Mang Greggy (Joel Torre) to reconcile with his daughter Teresa (Judy Ann Santos). Each night on Starla, we are saddened with how their relationship continues to fall apart.
During Teresa’s childhood days, Mang Greggy only mattered to her. Having Teresa as his only child, Mang Greggy spent most of his time with her. They used to spend lots of playtime and road trips together. But no matter how much they wish that they could be together, time came when Mang Greggy had to leave Teresa.
Because of his causes, Mang Greggy was imprisoned and Teresa was left with her mother Lita (Ana Abad Santos). Eventually, Lita got sick and rather than enjoying her teenage years, Teresa had no choice but to work day and night to take care of her mother and provide for the two of them financially.
Unfortunately, despite Teresa’s hardwork, Lita still died. After that, Teresa was left all alone, so she decided to leave their hometown, Barrio Maulap.
When Mang Greggy regained his freedom and went back to Barrio Maulap, he found out about Lita’s passing and that Teresa already left for good. Many years have passed until Teresa decided to come back home. However, she is not the same Teresa that Mang Greggy knew.
Teresa came back with only one goal in mind- to take revenge against the people in her hometown. She wanted to make all the townspeople of Barrio Maulap suffer like her when they failed to help her when her mother was sick and her father was in jail.
Apart from Barrio Maulap, she also blamed her father for all the miseries she experienced when she was young. Teresa held a grudge against her father because she thought he abandoned her and her mom, and had to go through several hardships alone. Thus, even though Mang Greggy sincerely asked for forgiveness and exerted effort to reconcile with her, she still remained bitter towards her father and continued to resent him. For her, Atty. Robert Salazar (Tirso Cruz III) is now her father and her only family. Atty. Robert helped her graduate and become one of the highest acclaimed lawyers today.
Now, Mang Greggy decided to take a stand for Barrio Maulap, even though he knows that it would stop Teresa from succeeding in her project. Even though he wanted his daughter to forgive him, he knew that what Teresa is doing was wrong, so he had to go against her. As things start to get worse in barrio Maulap, will Teresa finally find it in her heart to forgive Mang Greggy and reconcile with him before it’s too late? Find out on Starla, weeknights after FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano on Primetime Bida.
