Vice Ganda, Ivana Alawi, Cathy Garcia-Molina thank viewers for box office success of ‘Partners in Crime’

It was a night full of laughter, gratitude, and celebration as the cast, crew, and creative team of the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Star Cinema entry "Partners in Crime" gathered for the movie's thanksgiving party, held on Wednesday night, Feb. 15.

The film's lead stars Vice Ganda and Ivana Alawi, as well as director Cathy Garcia-Molina, attended and took time to thank everyone who made the movie's success possible during its MMFF run.

In a heartfelt speech, the Blockbuster Director put the spotlight on everyone who contributed their talent and efforts for the movie, most especially the lead stars, Vice and Ivana.

Speaking to Vice, Direk Cathy expressed her gratitude for the trust, her newfound friendship with the comedian-host, and for Vice's incomparable wit and talent.

She said, “It's not easy working with me. I know that, but thank you. Thank you for one, trusting me; pangalawa, thank you na naging magkaibigan tayo sa pelikulang ‘to, thank you sa pagmamahal mo sa staff ko, sa boys. And most importantly, thank you for your talent. Na-realize ko hindi ko kaya 'to — ikaw 'to, eh. Thank you for making this movie possible.”

For her part, Ivana was grateful for the trust and opportunity given to her to work alongside two of the biggest names in the industry.

"I want to congratulate everyone who was a part of this movie. Maraming salamat sa Star Cinema na nagtiwala, kay Meme Vice na binigyan ako ng opportunity na makatrabaho siya, dream come true. And of course, Direk Cathy... everyone. Sa ABS-CBN family ko, maraming salamat," Ivana said.

The night wouldn’t be complete without Vice expressing his overflowing love and thanks to the “madlang pipol” who watched and supported his comeback movie in the cinemas. As Vice pointed out, it is also because of this love that made him want to do the project in the first place.

“Sa pagmamahal din natin sa audience natin, we felt like the audience, the Filipino audience, the families, needed a fun movie for Christmas, especially this time. Kung hindi man ma-solve ang napakadaming pinagdadaanan ng mga Pilipino, at least to escape. Magamit natin ‘yung pelikula natin para maka-escape sila sa mga pinagdadaanan nila,” he explained.

“Masaya ako na nagawa natin ang pelikulang 'to at nakapagprovide tayo ng escape para sa maraming maraming Pilipino,” he added.

Congratulations to the whole team of “Partners in Crime”!

To those who wish to see the movie in Japan, Vice will fly to the Land of the Rising Sun for the screenings of “Partners in Crime” in Nagoya on Feb. 23, and in Saitama on Feb. 26. See more details below:
