Kathryn Bernardo receives her Outstanding Asian Star award at the 2023 Seoul International Drama Awards

A joyfully overwhelmed Kathryn Bernardo personally received her Outstanding Asian Star award at the 2023 Seoul International Drama Awards held in Seoul, South Korea on Thursday, September 21.

The "A Very Good Girl" actress looked angelic in her white gown designed by Martin Bautista, as she walked the red carpet and thereafter delivered her speech on stage.

In her speech, Kathryn expressed how much of a huge milestone it is for her to be nominated, much more recognized, by such a prestigious award-giving body.

"When I initially found out about this nomination and recognition for my craft from such an esteemed award giving body, that in itself is already a win for me," Kathryn began. "But being here tonight, personally receiving this award, along with my fellow awardees from Asia, I'm so overwhelmed and still feels surreal."

Kathryn then thanked the whole "2 Good 2 Be True" team whom she shared the award with. The actress also made special mention of some of the brilliant team members behind the show, including the directors, Mae Cruz-Alviar and Paco Sta. Maria; their writers, headed by Denise O'Hara; and her lead co-stars Daniel Padilla and the veteran Ronaldo Valdez.

For Kathryn who portrayed the role of nurse Ali, the series is more than just another show for her.

"I fell in love with this project because of the storyline. It's always more than just about sharing a love story for our audience, but also spreading awareness on Alzheimer's Disease and educating people about those who struggle and how we can offer them the best support,” Kathryn said. “So this project made me appreciate our nurses and healthcare workers."

"[It] was more than just another TV show for me. To my fans from Philippines, this is for you,” she added. “You guys are a gem and I appreciate each and every one of you."

With "2 Good 2 Be True" being ABS-CBN's first-ever team-up with Netflix, Kathryn hopes for such partnerships to continue creating "world-class projects not just for Filipinos, but for the whole world to see."

"I am so proud and humbled to be on this stage representing Filipino talent and being a Filipino. This means so much to me," Kathryn said.

Congratulations, Kathryn, and we're all very proud of you!
