‘Grabe, ang lala’: Donny and Belle voice gratitude to supporters of ‘An Inconvenient Love’

Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano are simply overwhelmed by the enormous outpouring of love and support for their romantic-comedy movie “An Inconvenient Love” since its world premiere last Nov. 22.

Right before they traveled to Singapore for their film’s international screening on Nov. 26, Donny and Belle gushed over all the love and positive feedback that they have been receiving from their family members, avid supporters, and audiences nationwide.

“Honestly, when it was released, grabe, ang lala. Super grabe ‘yung support nila and we are so grateful for their love, really,” Belle enthused.

Donny shared their “fun experience” doing a cinema tour on Nov. 23, where they got to surprise their fans in block screenings in SM Megamall, SM North Edsa, Trinoma, and Fishermall.

“We had the best time going around — block screenings, different theaters. Just surprising our supporters, surprising everyone who’s watching. Such a fun experience seeing their emotions live, especially during the premiere night. Seeing them scream, laugh, cry, all at the same time,” the actor said.

“Even our close friends and family, just to hear about their reactions and what they thought about the movie, we really appreciated it,” he added.

When asked about the comment that has impacted them the most since their movie was released, Belle answered, “Everytime I do a project, I think one comment that really sticks to me is that they didn’t see Belle. Nakita nila ‘yung character ko.”

“And ‘yung mga learnings nila. ‘Pag nag-a-analyze sila, nakikita ko nagsusulat sila ng thread sa Twitter ng mga feedback nila about the characters, about the storyline. And I think that’s what really moves me the most,” she added.

For his part, Donny talked about the moment his family beamed with pride over his performance in the movie.

“I think ‘yung meaningful talaga sa akin, ‘yung sa pamilya ko. When my siblings went up to me during the premiere night and they told me [that] this was their favorite film of ours yet. Kita niyo naman siguro sa mga videos, sobbing sina Ella and Hannah and sinabihan ako na, ‘We’re so proud of you.’ ‘Yung ganun. ‘Yun talaga ‘yung meaningful sa akin eh, kasi galing talaga sa taong malapit sa puso ko,” he explained.

Written by Enrico Santos and Daisy Cayanan, “An Inconvenient Love” is now showing in more than 175 cinemas nationwide!
