If there's anything we can expect from the team-up of Coco Martin and Jodi Sta. Maria, it's how they will surely level up their game in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Labyu with an Accent"!
In an exclusive interview with Star Cinema on September 28, the lead stars talked about working with each other for the upcoming romantic-comedy and what they have discovered so far about themselves.
According to Coco, doing comedy after starring in action series for the longest time made him miss working with the late legendary director, Wenn Deramas, who is known for his trademark comedy on the big screen.
"Gusto ko ibang-iba 'to sa mga na-experience ng manonood natin sa 'Probinsyano'. This time naman, mas gusto ko sana masaya, light. Sabi ko nga, na-miss ko si Direk Wenn (Deramas) kasi ibang-iba 'to sa 'Probinsyano' na ginawa ko. Gusto lang namin, feel good, masaya, nakakatawa. Alam mo 'yun, makakapagpagaan sa buhay ng mga Pilipino," he said.
Meanwhile, working with a new leading man and a new environment made Jodi discover that she can adapt to new working styles.
"It's really about being open to new working styles kasi syempre, through the years, meron kang working style na nakasanayan and meron kang sariling process as an actor. Ngayon, I'm just open to learning new things depending kung sino rin ang nakakasama ko. It's really about being able to adjust, adapt, and be more flexible," she gushed.
