5 unknown facts about 2020 MMFF Best Actress Charlie Dizon

After being engrossed by Charlie Dizon's huge Best Actress win in the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night, we are certainly interested to know more about this newest shining Kapamilya star--here are some facts about her that you need to know.

“Ipinaglihi ako sa grapes,” she revealed. This explains why the young actress has such round facial features. Charlie is the youngest out of all her siblings and has a degree in Human Resources Management. “Ang layo sa showbiz pero kinaya,” she boasted.

There was a time when Charlie almost became the first ever Filipino K-Pop idol. When an entertainment agency from South Korea held auditions here in the Philippines, she joined and was chosen to continue as a trainee in South Korea out of a thousand people. She even got to train with now-K-Pop star and The Soulmate Project leading lady Nancy McDonie. This was a major opportunity, but it was cut short due to problems with her visa.

Despite her initial set back, Charlie still managed to establish a career as a Kapamilya. She started off as a commercial model. Eventually, she landed minor roles in 2017 movies, “Finally Found Someone”, “Loving in Tandem”, and “Seven Sundays”. By 2018, she was introduced as a part of Star Magic Circle. Just last February, ABS-CBN Films launched its pioneer batch of artists under its own talent management arm, the Rise Artist Studio. Included in the roster of fresh talents is Charlie.

There is no question that she has the looks and the talent to make it big in show business.
