Ever since their loveteam was born six years ago, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla have been apparently inseparable on-and-off-cam. They did not only delight us with their appearances together in the flicks and shows they starred in, but also with the sweet moments they share off-cam.
As their team up garnered a huge throng of followers through the years and they have cemented their reputation as their generation’s formidable on-and-off-screen pair, KathNiel became one of most highly anticipated love teams to grace the grandiose Star Magic Ball every year.
It was in 2012 when they first attended together, while filming their first teleserye as a pair Princess & I. Aside from the fact that it was their first time, what made that night extra special and memorable was the Breakout Style Award bestowed to them. DJ showed up bespectacled in spruce tuxedo while Kath sashayed in Rhett Eala beaded white sweetheart gown.
The following year, they enthralled us with their fresh-from-the-prom look as the Queen of Hearts paraded in the embellished pink frock made by Francis Libiran while her King was cladded in checkered suit by Edwin Tan, which seemed to embody their remarkable characters in their movie “Must Be…Love” and series Got To Believe that were both shown in 2013.
Similar to the ambiance of their 2014 flick “She’s Dating the Gangster,” the Royalties gave us a retro vibe through the elegant ensembles they wore to the star-studded affair. Adhering to the Old Hollywood Glam motif, the 22-year-old actress dazzled in a glittery and feathery Albert Andrada gown, which was complemented by the actor’s maroon Joey Samson suit and black cane prop.
What better way to celebrate the warm reception of the people to the remake of the classic soap opera Pangako Sa ‘Yo that they headline than to snag the Best Dressed Couple accolade? In 2015, KathNiel was indeed the epitome of sophistication as they both came in white elegant numbers – Kathryn in a Michael Cinco body-hugging peekaboo dress while Daniel in a Joey Samson creation adorned with black corsage.
Mature and daring
As mature and daring as Mia and Eli was in the acclaimed romantic-drama film “Barcelona: A Love Untold,” the tandem exhibited the same aura on their trip to the Star Magic Ball in 2016. The Queen once again donned a Michael Cinco masterpiece – a shimmering black tube gown with high slit that made her appear sexier – while the King literally loosened up from the formality of the event, yet still handsome, in his all-black ensemble courtesy of Francis Libiran and Joey Samson.
2017 had been momentous for the majestic tandem since it was their first time to star in an action-fantasy teleserye, La Luna Sangre. And it seemed that they had imbibed their mystical characters Malia and Tristan on that year’s glitzy fanfare, as shown in the attires they wore. Kath looked utterly whimsical in her heavily embellished Patricia Santos frock and topping it off with a romantic ‘do. As ‘rebellious’ as he is, DJ stood out in the sea of black and white suits by wearing a velvet blazer in plum and tinted wayfarers.
Now that we’re few days away from the much-awaited evening, we can’t help but be excited on how KathNiel will stun us, especially that they already admitted their five-year real life romance during the media conference of their latest movie that has since shattered box office records, “The Hows of Us.”
