With blockbuster hit movies and top-rating teleseryes under her belt, not to mention the recognitions and accolades she received from various local and international award-giving bodies, Kathryn Bernardo is indeed worthy to be called as her generation’s ultimate “Queen of Hearts.”
As time went by, it’s not only her performances as an actress that we found truly award-winning and remarkable, but her sense of style as well. Thus, it’s no surprise why she is catapulted as one of the young beauty and fashion icons in the country and among the highly anticipated female stars to grace the Star Magic Ball every year.
Preppy and pretty
Her stint in the glitzy affair began in 2010 when she was just 14 years old. Wearing a black and silver glossy one-shoulder dress, she showed up together with her Goin’ Bulilit batchmates John Manalo and Miles Ocampo.
Clad in the appliqued powder pink mermaid frock by Francis Libiran, she added sparkle to her preppy look by putting on a beaded headband and glittery accessories. She was escorted by her "Wayback Home" leading man Enrique Gil in 2011.
Glitzy and glamorous
2012 is indeed one of the momentous year for KathNiel and their fans because apart from starring on their first-ever television series Princess & I, it was also when they attended Star Magic Ball together for the first time. Making it extra memorable was the Breakout Style Award they bagged, perhaps for complementing each other’s modest yet elegant look -- Kath sashayed in a sequined white sweetheart number while DJ opted for a four-piece old-school suit.
A year after, they took home their first-ever Couple of the Night Award. Well, it’s not surprising since both of them are undeniably ravishing in the pieces they chose. The Teen Queen was utterly shining, shimmering, and splendid in the intricately embellished champagne gown crafted by Francis Libiran, while our Teen King was strutting in a classic tuxedo.
Adhering to the theme “Old Hollywood Glam”, the actress rocked the red carpet with a heavily embellished Albert Andrada number. Giving a dash of youthfulness in her classy get-up was her bold red lips and wavy highlighted locks.
Sweet and sexy
In the past three years, Kath elevated her Star Magic Ball fashion into more mature and more regal as she picked pieces that makes it possible for her to flaunt her morena skin comfortably and confidently.
For her attire on the ninth edition of the formal party, she was dressed in the body-hugging white ensemble crafted by Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco. Although the masterpiece was laden with cutouts and had a mesh back that made her appear more daring than usual, her daintiness was not sacrificed as it was topped off with natural-looking makeup and her wavy tress neatly tied in ponytail. Later that night, she switched to a heavily-beaded gold dress by Patricia Santos as she took part in the cotillion dance.
Her get-up was astoundingly matched by Daniel, who was then wearing an all-white dapper suit. As such, they won the Best Dressed Couple in 2015.
She once again tapped Michael Cinco to design her gown for the 2016 Star Magic Ball. As expected, she didn’t disappoint as Kathryn appeared very much sophisticated and regal in the glittery black gown he created. Its lack of straps nor sleeves, high slit, and feminine silhouette allowed her to show off her curves and more skin. Pairing it with silver necklace and earrings and black pouch made her look a tad classier.
And lastly, many would probably agree that the Queen of Hearts’ appearance last year was absolutely the most ethereal of all her looks as she mesmerized everyone with the fully beaded, halter-strapped ball gown with a long train by Patricia Santos. Adding glow and sexiness to her aura was her sun-kissed complexion, romantic hairstyle, and of course, her eye-catching smile. No wonder why she was bestowed the Brightest Star of the Night Award.
Are you excited as us to witness how Kathryn will slay the red carpet of this year’s edition of the glitzy celebrity ball?
