In the controversial world of show business, lucky are those artists who are able to find trustworthy and steadfast mates who would stick with them no matter what. Through thick and thin, they would be there to guide and support each other.
Take for example the King Of Heart’s barkada, who have been his perennial teammates not only in basketball, but in life too. Browsing through their Instagram accounts, it’s obvious that his ties with Marco Gumabao, Patrick Sugui, Dominic Roque, Khalil Ramos, and Neil Coleta are so tight that they’re often spotted together. From work to hangouts, it seems they’re inseparable. As they all aspire to make it big and create an impact in showbiz, these equally good-looking and talented guys prove they’re not only in it for the good times, but they also got each other’s back in times of trouble.
Despite being the son of famous actor Dennis Roldan and the younger brother of professional volleyball player and ex-Pinoy Big Brother celebrity housemate Michelle Gumabao, this 23-year-old continues to make his own mark in the local entertainment scene with his effective and outstanding portrayals in his every project. Marco debuted on LUV U alongside some Goin’ Bulilit alumni and was paired with Miles Ocampo. He recently headlined the “Pikot” episode of Ipaglaban Mo opposite young actress Sarah Carlos.
Right after he stepped out of the Pinoy Big Brother house as a teen housemate in its Teen Clash 2010 edition, he was welcomed with strings projects casting him in supporting roles. He remains active in showbiz as he appears in various Kapamilya shows. He currently portraying the role of Adee, one of the members of the Moonchasers in La Luna Sangre.
Before he skyrocketed to fame, Dominic was a model and brand ambassador for a number of products. His first major role was “Aryana” where he played Hubert Francisco, the love interest of the titular character portrayed by Ella Cruz. He proves that he doesn’t need to use his aunt’s name, Beth Tamayo, to create his own space in the industry as he relentlessly astonish us not only with his good looks, but with his impeccable flair in acting too. He starred in numerous projects but his stint in the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Seklusyon was laudable. Pagpag: Siyam Na Buhay and Crazy Beautiful You were his projects with Daniel.
After winning as a first runner-up in the Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3, Khalil didn’t only kick off his career as a recording artist, but as an actor as well. His first acting project was Princess and I, where he starred alongside Daniel, Kathryn Bernardo, and Enrique Gil. However, it was through his gay role in the critically-acclaimed indie movie 2 Cool 2 Be 4Gotten, for which he got nominated in the Best Actor category of the 12th Cinema One Originals Film Festival and the 40th Gawad Urian Awards. He is now reunited with KathNiel in the hit primetime series La Luna Sangre.
This former commercial model is presumably the wackiest among the clique. He and the Teen King first project together was in the now-defunct, teen-oriented Sunday afternoon series Growing Up which also featured Kathryn and Julia Montes. He’s remarkable as the unlikely sidekick of Coco Martin, Asiong, in the fantaserye Juan Dela Cruz and My Little Juan. He has starred in numerous shows and flicks, but it was in the 2012 film I Do Bidoo Bidoo: Heto nAPO Sila! where he clinched the New Movie Actor of the Year Award. He is also part of the cast of La Luna Sangre, playing the role of Umang, Tristan’s (Daniel Padilla) kababata in San Isidro.
DJ and his barkada is definitely one of the squads that most of us are pining to have – a bunch of people who would love and support you whether you’re a celebrity or not and would understand you in all aspects. Just like how Patrick described their brotherhood in one of his tweets: “We have that ride or die kind of friendship.”
