Every year, aside from the regular attendees, we also anticipate surprise guests to the Star Magic Ball. Surprise because either they are artists from other talent agencies or are not working for the Kapamilya network anymore.
Non-Star Magic Kapamilya artists Bela Padilla, Richard Gutierrez and wife Sarah Lahbati graced the grand event in black posh ensembles. The “Last Night” screenwriter, who came with her best buddy Arci Muñoz, was a part of the aforementioned talent center’s Batch 15 and was credited as Krista Valle and Krista Sullivan. Meanwhile, the newly engaged couple, who are both seen on major ABS-CBN programs as of late, came from rival channels and are both products of Viva Artists Agency, so everyone was astounded to witness their arrival at the grand Star Magic gala.
Former Star Magic babies Heart Evangelista and Megan Young were also present as they brought along their dapper dates Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero and Mikael Daez, respectively. Kapuso actress Janine Gutierrez was there as well as Rayver Cruz’s arm candy.
It is Star Magic’s 25th anniversary, thus two of its most brilliant actresses Claudine Barretto and Kristine Hermosa didn’t let the momentous occasion to simply pass by. They were also the ones who handed the special recognition to their “second father” Mr. Johnny Manahan during the formal party.
Kristine came with her husband Oyo Boy Sotto while seasoned actress Alice Dixson attended solo that evening. They both appeared in several shows of the Kapamilya network.
All were anxious if one of Star Magic’s premier talents, John Lloyd Cruz, would make it. And, he did albeit without the customary Red Carpet walk and sans a much anticipated date! He rocked the party in his classic tuxedo paired with round sunglasses and new hair color.
Were you surprised as us?
