It was a dream come true for one simple barrio lass and office worker.
On Saturday, September 30, 22-year-old Crystyn Joy Laranjo from Davao City became an instant celebrity as she attended the 11th Star Magic Ball as its “Guest of Honor.”
She won that precious invite to the glittery gala in a Star Magic digital promo last year.
Crystyn transformed into a glamorous and elegant princess at the Ball donning a black ball ensemble designed by Nat Manilag and wearing the face and coif hairstylist Mildred Carranto and make-up artist Karen Santos gave her.
She didn’t let the Manila downpour spoil the excitement, as seen in the behind-the-scenes snaps, when she finally put on the gown that was only a sketch last Thursday and had her ‘artistahin’ makeover hours before the Star Magic Ball. Of course, she also has a photo shoot like celebrities do through the lens of Ryan Borrel.
Crystyn was indeed a stunner as she paced the Star Magic Ball red carpet just like the other celebrity stunners that night in her classic black sweetheart gown paired with black pumps and silver clutch. Her natural beauty still radiated with simple coif and minimal makeup and jewelry.
Her jitters and excitement were replaced with sheer happiness for she was able to mingle and have photos taken with her favorite Kapamilya A-listers, such as Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Bea Alonzo and Gerald Anderson, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, Maja Salvador and Enchong Dee, Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona, Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia, Pia Wurtzbach and more in the holding area. She even got a huge and warm embrace from her idol Elisse Joson and posed for a wacky shot with Alexa Ilacad! For sure, this stream of snaps would make other fans out there green with envy (including us!).
Crystyn is a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Human Resource Management degree holder and currently works in an overseas hiring agency in Panabo, Davao del Norte. Her mom, who’s working in Hong Kong, immediately flew back to the Philippines to accompany her in the newest milestone in her life. She is the first-ever non-celebrity VIP who attended the Ball.
