Let’s revisit Joseph Marco’s remarkable teleserye performances in this episode of Kapamilya Spotlight!

In his 10 years as a certified Kapamilya, Joseph Marco has indeed never failed to astound us not just with his swooning good looks, but with his dramatic chops and versatility as an actor as well. And soon, we’re going to witness it again as he takes part in the continuously evolving and riveting narrative of Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin!

But before we get to see him take on the yet-to-be-revealed role of Avel Mansueto, let’s take a look back on some of his remarkable teleserye stints through the years in this episode of Kapamilya Spotlight.

Upon his transfer to ABS-CBN in 2010, he was immediately tapped to be one of the leading men of Jessy Mendiola in the romance series Sabel, alongside late actor AJ Perez. A year after, he began appearing in episodes of weekly anthologies Wansapanataym and Maalaala Mo Kaya.

In 2012, Joseph had a special participation in the fantaserye E-Boy as the teen counterpart of the villain Miguel Villareal, played by Jomari Yllana. He subsequently had guest appearances in Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Pintada as Julian Sandejas and Princess and I as Dasho Kim Methra.

The following year, he was among the supporting cast of the melodrama series Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala as he played Leandros Panaligan, and of the kidserye Honesto, wherein he truly impressed us with the portrayal of a mentally-retarded young man named Elijah “Elai” Galang.

He was able to once again prove his caliber as a leading man in the 2014 romance-drama Pure Love, which was the Filipino adaptation of the Korean series 49 Days. He took on the character of the dashing Dave Martinez, who was torn between female protagonists Diane Santos and Ysabel Espiritu – played by Alex Gonzaga and Yen Santos, respectively.

In 2015, after having a special participation in the afternoon soap opera Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita? as the teen version of Nicanor “Kanor” Galvez (portrayed by seasoned actor Christopher Roxas), the 32-year-old actor went on to become one of the stars of Pasion de Amor – the Pinoy remake of the 2003 Colombian telenovela Pasion De Gavilanes – wherein he made us smitten with his character Franco Samonte.

A year after, Joseph had his Ipaglaban Mo debut via the “Tiwala” episode, in which he totally amazed us with his portrayal of a handicapped man named Tonyo who got imprisoned after mercilessly murdering his niece. He subsequently got cast in Dolce Amore as River Cruz, the stiff rival of Enrique Gil’s Tenten to the heart of Serena, played by Liza Soberano.

His stint as Diego Ardiente-Torillo in the controversial revenge series Wildflower could be considered his breakthrough role as it enabled him to further explore and exhibit his versatility as an actor, which helped cement his reputation as one of the bankable leading men of his generation.

After taking a break from making teleseryes, he joined the afternoon romance drama Precious Hearts Romances Presents Los Bastardos as Lorenzo Cuevas, whose on-screen romance with Dianne Liwanag (Ritz Azul) gained a huge following among the viewers.

Joseph’s last television appearance was in the “Tawag ng Pag-ibig” episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya, wherein he got reunited with Ritz as they depicted the inspiring love story of It’s Showtime’s Tawag ng Tanghalan finalist Violeta Bayawa and her estranged husband Zacharias.

Aside from these television series, he also starred in a couple of iWant Originals series, namely “Touch Screen” and “Uncoupling”.
