In 2012, Kit Thompson was introduced as the “Kid Tangkad ng Pampanga” on Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 4 when he was just 15 years old. Batchmates Joj and Jai Agpangan, Yves Flores, Tom Doromal, Karen Reyes and Big Winner Myrtle Sarrosa have also become successful in showbiz.
Inside Big Brother’s house, it was clear how Kit showed his great potential in doing every task well and in opening his heart to other housemates. He got evicted on Day 49, after he and his co-housemates accomplished the task of organizing their own fund-raising event called the “Build A Big Dream Concert”, in which a local elementary school benefited.
Shortly after his PBB journey ended, Kit was launched as an actor and become part of the teleserye Kahit Puso’y Masugatan. He played as Alberto "Ambet" Espiritu, a young man who competed with Mico (Yves Flores) in winning the heart of the beautiful maiden named Monique Santos (Myrtle Sarrosa).
Kit had a series of film acting stints after his first teleserye, including the Cinemalaya entry #Y with Coleen Garcia and Elmo Magalona. Then, he took a break from showbiz and decided to move to the US.
As revealed by the actor himself in a Magandang Buhay episode last September 2018, his acting hiatus was due to his desire to study. He enrolled at the New York Film Academy and did some practical training. He then moved to Los Angeles and signed a contract with a modeling agency.
Kit then came back to the country last year when he landed a supporting role in the Kathryn Bernardo-Daniel Padilla-starrer "The Hows of Us," which is considered the highest grossing Filipino film in history. He would then also star in the Cinemalaya entry "Belle Douleur" with Mylene Dizon in January.
Kit’s subsequent TV comeback shows he really has what it takes to be the next hottest actor. He was impressive in the Ipaglaban Mo episode “Paasa” with Sofia Andres, wherein he played Enzo, the man who fooled a high school student named Jessica to satisfy his lustful pleasures.
In March, Kit made everyone kilig when he starred in the Maalaala Mo Kaya episode “Painting” with Elisse Joson. They portrayed Mark and Ancel, the couple whose wedding proposal video in the Big Lagoon of El Nido, Palawan went viral on social media. They inspired viewers by showing how much they loved each other without any regard for physical appearance, particularly one’s built.
Now, Kit is about to impress us even more as takes on the role of the young lawyer Greco Catapang in the much awaited teleserye Sino Ang May Sala? Mea Culpa.
Catch the series premiere on Monday, April 29 after The General’s Daughter on Primetime Bida.
