Characters of the gripping Kapamilya mystery-drama series Sino ang Maysala? Mea Culpa are in search of truth as they untangle the web of lies and crimes that has unraveled in the story. Fina (Jodi Sta. Maria), the female protagonist, finds herself caught in a fight of love and justice as she locks horns with a group of lawyers amidst her search for her abducted child.
Through the help of a few friends she met along the way, Fina practices her painstaking attention to clues and other leads that will put an end to her agony. She is yet to know the real felons behind her daughter’s loss.
But, in this fun game, Jodi Sta. Maria showed clear transparency as she revealed the culprits behind the biggest ‘crimes’ taking place on the set of Sino ang Maysala? Mea Culpa.
“Sino ang may sala kapag late ang pack-up?”
As a team comprised of actors with laudable talent, there was never yet a time when the taping went beyond the allotted hours. After all, everyone knows how to play their game well; resulting to smooth-sailing takes.
Though, Jodi revealed that working with children and infants in the show is quite a challenge. As an adult who often shares sequences with the kids, Jodi has to always be on her toes in case when unexpected scenarios surface such as when the child actor whines or squeezes in a little playtime in the middle of a scene. “Kahit may four hours lang sila [para magtrabaho] per day, kailangan kami pa rin ang mag-adjust”, Jodi said.
“Sino ang may sala kapag paulit-ulit ang eksena?”
“Kit Thompson”, Jodi wrote on the board. But, Jodi understands why Kit, or Greco in the series, stutters in his lines and she listed down the reasons why. First, it is no secret that Kit has a foreign blood and he spent most of his years overseas. Next, English is his mother tongue. Lastly, the script is made up of long dialogues written in profound Filipino words. “Sumasabit ‘pag malalalim na Tagalog but not all the time”, Jodi said in defense of her co-actor.
“Sino ang may sala kapag nananaba ang cast?”
Jodi pointed her fingers at Ivana Alawi who takes on the role of Lolita. With Ivana’s perfectly shaped curves and alluring sexiness, Jodi’s claims would sound a bit surprising. But, all the other cast all voted for her in this category. “Mahilig siya manilbre!”, Jodi shared. Ivana often indulges her co-stars with free food on the set from milk tea to coffee or anything else they prefer.
“Sino ang may sala kapag makalat sa set?”
While Jodi observed that they are all neat when it comes to their belongings, she revealed that she is that star who comes in the set with a lot of stuff. Juggling her multiple roles as an actress and a student, Jodi brings her own table and even own microwave in the tent.
One corner of her area houses her school materials such as books, while the other side is meant for her taping-related belongings, and another spot is designed akin to a ‘sari-sari store’ where she places her huge packs of chips intended to fill in everyone’s appetite.
“Pero hindi ako makalat. Babangon sa hukay ang Lola ko kapag makalat ako. Dapat ang babae malinis sa gamit at katawan”, Jodi said sounding like a true woman of substance and wisdom.
