“Tropang malakas, astig sa labanan, malupit hanggang sa huli, walang iwanan! Yeah! “, chanted by Juris (Bela Padilla), Drei (Tony Labrusca), Greco (Kit Thompson), Lolita (Ivana Alawi), Gaylord (Sandino Martin) and Bogs (Ketchup Eusebio) as they unite their hands altogether in a signal of true brotherhood.
Their diverse characters were never a hindrance to creating a beautiful friendship built on strong foundations of love, trust, and genuine concern for one another. In fact, it only made their tribe a lot stronger through time.Z
The six pals are all aspiring to become lawyers. As they squeeze themselves in a sea of dreamers anticipating the bar exam results, Juris’ group flanks beside each other as they spot their names on the list of passers. They were a picture-perfect image of a real barkada goals as they succeed all together, save for one. The group showed sincere happiness for each other’s triumph and empathy for Bogs as he faces his failure.
The team clings unto each other like real family, igniting jealousy from Lolita’s husband who sees her growing closer with her friends than him. Lolita even had to orchestrate a fake event just to sneak out with her buddies in a road trip to Baguio. Of course, the group is willing to conceal Lolita’s alibis when caught.
While in Baguio to celebrate their victories as new lawyers, the group found themselves partying at a music lounge and bar. But the fun is cut short as a random guest enticed Gaylord into a brawl and spitted blood out of nowhere. Like what a true brother would do, Greco, Drei, and Bogs boldly came in rescue for their insulted friend. Juris and Lolita even put off their feminine nature to join in the fight as well. That scene undeniably proved that the bunch indeed got each other’s back even if they receive wounds, bruises, and broken bones in return.
To end the night of celebration, the pack dropped by a scenic view and gazed at the peaceful glow of the lights and mountains. Lining up in a row, the group of friends had a heart-to-heart talk about their past journeys, their future lives, and anything else under the stars. That moment showed how true buddies would fearlessly share dreams with each other.
However, the solemn moment of daydreaming turned wild as Bogs took a pack of marijuana from his pocket. Juris tried to rebuke her friends but persuaded by the principle of camaraderie, she gave in to their mindless decision.
Their friendship was put to test when they accidentally hit and killed a random woman amidst their nighttime road trip. The group was torn into two as they argue whether to face their felony or just get rid of the victim’s lifeless body. A heated argument took place until they resorted to a vote system. They arrived in a decision, albeit unlawful, to just bury their crime behind; in order to save the licenses they all worked hard for.
Despite the guilt and inner remorse of some, the group still ended the crime by uniting their hands altogether and uttering their barkada chant. The pals decided to keep mum about the incident and they promised to keep their dark secret like how they protect one another.
