In more than two months on-air, Sino Ang Maysala? Mea Culpa truly didn’t fail to get us glued to our television screens and hooked with the riveting developments in the show. But among the story arcs that comprise it, it’s definitely the harrowing journey of Fina Baniaga (Jodi Sta. Maria) in search of her long-lost child that strikes us the most, not to mention that it’s the central plot of this magnificent narrative.
Arguably, losing a child is the most painful thing that could ever happen in a woman’s life, regardless of how it happened. Thus, we weren’t all surprised to witness how she madly reacted upon finding out that the kid she carried in her womb for nine months and laboriously delivered to the world was gone in an instant after a suspected human trafficker took it away. She embarked on an exhausting journey in quest of her daughter Joy, and after five years, she found herself clashing against the group of lawyers who are deemed to have a huge and important connection to her case.
Amidst the lies, denials, and threats imposed to her by Juris (Bela Padilla), Drei (Tony Labrusca), Greco (Kit Thompson), Gaylord (Sandino Martin), and Lolita (Ivana Alawi), Fina has remained firmly convinced that they have something to do with Joy’s loss and believe that her maternal instinct would not fail her.
From confronting them one-by-one and all-at-once in pursuit of persuading them to confess, her desperation to finally find her lost child pushed her to kidnap her biological child Leyna, who Juris and Drei adopted and firmly protected against her.
She may not be as affluent as they are nor knowledgeable with law as they do, Fina amazes us with how she showcases her strength and courage to fight for what she knows is right and to reclaim what is actually hers from the very start, as seen in the clips in this Kapamilya Toplist.
Will Fina win in the end? Let’s find out by not missing an episode of Sino Ang Maysala? Mea Culpa, weeknights after The General’s Daughter on Primetime Bida.
