An orphan rescued by a righteous man who raised her well, Juris Agoncillo-Montelibano (Bela Padilla) grew up with a conscious effort to win in life. She filled her mind with wisdom and graduated with high honors until she landed a spot in the 2014 bar exams list of top passers.
All these are part of her desire to make her adoptive father, Tatay Emil (Buboy Garovillo) proud. Growing up in the hands of a stranger, Juris spends her time molding other children in the orphanarium and helping those in need; hence, her penchant for the oppressed and underprivileged.
However, Juris’ morals and principles are put to test when she and her friends accidentally killed a pedestrian amidst their fun Baguio road trip. The good and the bad in Juris’ overall psyche came to a clash when she was caught between giving in to her conscience and yielding in to her barkada’s bad decision for the sake of camaraderie.
Deeply stricken by guilt, Juris decided to adopt the baby perceived as their victim’s offspring. What started out as just an act of reparation suddenly turned genuine as Juris learned to fully love the child she raised as her own.
Now endowed with power as a lawyer and a politician’s wife, Juris is determined to fight it out against Fina (Jodi Sta. Maria) who introduces herself as the biological mother of her adopted child. Juris’ ideals conflicts with her inner bad side again as she engages in a battle of justice and love.
Bela Padilla says the mystery-drama series was the most captivating of all the projects recently offered to her. For one, Juris is multi-faceted, a bida- kontrabida character which is something new to her. More so, the viewers are bound to get engaged in Sino Ang Maysala? Mea Culpa by making their own judgement as to who really is at fault in each episode.
