Throughout his 12-year career in the local entertainment scene, Ejay Falcon never failed to enthrall us with his stints both in television and film. And in his latest portrayal as Julius Caesar Reyes, or simply JC, in the afternoon action drama Sandugo, he does not simply charm us, for he also inspires with how his character has remained morally upright amid the tough circumstances he went through.
Now that it has reached its exhilarating finale week, let’s revisit the 10 moments when JC displayed how dignified he is as an individual and an agent of the government’s investigative bureau in this Kapamilya Toplist.
Whether he works as an undercover agent or not, it’s been innate for JC to be virtuous as his parents Joan (Cherry Pie Picache) and Eugene (Ariel Rivera) raised him to become one, considering that his father is known for being an incorruptible policeman.
During the course of his tenure, JC relentlessly worked for the termination of the illegal prostitution business, which unbeknownst to him was managed by his long-lost twin brother Aris, whose name is now Leo Balthazar.
He, along with his teammates, managed to stop the syndicate’s shipment of women to Taiwan in one of their operations and even assaulted one of the suspects upon finding out that one of their unsuspecting victims was only 14 years old. They kept on interfering in their operations, with JC deciding to work undercover for several months as a hotel staff, until he was able to infiltrate the syndicate and to be fully acclimatized on how they operate. And it was also during his tenure in the group that he was able to find out that Leo is actually his long-lost brother that they’d been searching for.
His eagerness to end the evilness of Leo’s adoptive dad Ulysses (Gardo Versoza) has definitely put him in great danger a number of times. As he consistently disobeyed the orders of the bureau chief (Lao Rodriguez), the latter decided to pull him out of the mission and assign him to Cebu for a different case. He strongly refused, which made the latter decide to suspend him due to insubordination. Eugene also tried to convince him not to do so and cited the possible repercussion of his move, but he told him that he would depend on him and Darius (Jeric Raval) for backup.
Despite already losing protection from the bureau, JC still relayed what he knew about the Balthazars’ illegal business and testified against them. Because of this, he was later on reinstated.
Apart from simply doing his job, what made us admire JC more is when he courageously stopped Ulysses from giving punishment to Leo and when we saw how he felt guilty over the death of Rey, his opponent in the underground boxing bout he got engaged in. He told Leo that he didn’t want to continue their skirmish, but Leo warned him about the possible consequence of his loss so he went on. He also attempted to prevent Ulysses from gunning Rey down, but failed.
As JC remained morally upright until the very end, are we going to see a happy ending for him and his family? Well, that’s for us to find out so you better not miss the remaining episodes of Sandugo, weekdayson Kapamilya Gold.
