Ali admitted that he can relate to Choi because he too keeps secrets from his parents. There are parts of us that they might never meet. “Hindi lahat talaga kaya mong sabihin sa magulang mo,” he said. Jojit has seen fathers like Tonyo who tend to pass on their machismo attitude to their sons. Unfortunately, there are still parents with traditional mindsets and believe in outdated principles like men should not cry.
Jojit was deeply touched by “Lumabas Ka Na Dyan”. He felt that the concept was smart but that shooting with a phone was not enough for such a good story. Meanwhile, Ali had help from his sister, who took on the job of camera operator. Typically, the two of them working together has challenges. “Usually, ‘pag kami lang ng kapatid ko, pinagtatawanan namin ‘yung isa’t isa. So, mahirap talaga mag-acting sa harap niya,” he shared. For Sagutan, however, these siblings managed to be professional, with the guidance of director and writer Joshue Isaac Dizon.
Ali hopes that parents would be more understanding. This could encourage their children to be more open. As for those of us who are keeping secrets, the teen Star Dreamer advised that it was time to be honest. “Feel free na gawin n’yo ‘yung mga gusto n’yo. ‘Wag kayo matakot na i-judge kayo ng mga tao,” he stated. On a final note, Jojit pointed out the meaning behind his line in the ending, “Eventually tatanggapin kita pero definitely mahal kita … kaya lumabas ka na dyan.”
