Our daytime TV viewing is sure to be filled with love and laughter with the premiere of Playhouse on Monday, September 17! Judging from previews and the full trailer, one already can’t help but to laugh and relate with the characters from this newest teleserye.
Apart from that, why should we watch it? Here are five reasons
Angelica and Zanjoe’s first teleserye pair-up
They have been paired before in one episode of Star Magic Presents, titled “The Sweetest Victory.” It was a brief team-up, then they went back on their respective, laudable career journeys. Now, Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo have been given the chance to show us their delightful chemistry. With Angelica’s adorable wit and with Zanjoe’s irresistible charm, this is certainly a series to watch out for.
DonKiss’ Teleserye Debut
After their pair up in “Walwal,” the DonKiss fever still went on. These two rising stars made us swoon over their cute and adorable team up in the said movie. Now, they are all set to spread some ‘kilig’ vibes in their first teleserye together. How Donny Pangilinan and Kisses Delavin will make us believe in the sweet beauty of young love is indeed one thing to look forward to.
Angelica’s Teleserye Comeback After 3 Years
The award-winning versatile actress was last seen in the 2015 remake of the phenomenal teleserye Pangako Sa’Yo as Madame Claudia Buenavista. Now, Angelica plays a character quite distant from the iconic antagonist. As Patricia "Patty" Calumpang in Playhouse, Angelica will make us laugh and our hearts sink with such a funny, lovable and feisty character.
While it begins with the usual romantic boy-meets-girl take, how it proceeds to show the realities and issues affecting marriage, and how separation or annulment seems to be a convenient exit brings an interesting hook to the story. What’s even more exciting is how a kid not their own would be the one reason they just can’t give up on each other. Surely, such a story is something we should eagerly anticipate.
Zanjoe and Angelica’s characters, Marlon and Patty, exude individual personalities that really hit home. They are so relatable to anyone watching that their respective journeys and scenarios in dealing with life is quite familiar to viewers. This includes other characters that will be introduced in the series. Surely, a captivating “must-know” for viewers.
Watch Playhouse starting this September 17, before It’s Showtime.
