At first glance, we can say that this 17-year-old gal from General Santos City, South Cotabato unbelievably has a striking resemblance with the first-ever Teen Big Winner and one of the gregarious hosts of the latest season of Pinoy Big Brother, Kim Chiu, especially in her teenage years.
The Chinita Princess herself agreed to this observation, which was supported by the audiences and her co-presenters Robi Domingo and Toni Gonzaga as well, and even jested that she is her long-lost sister and they share the same mother.
Will Jelay Pilones have the same fate as her celebrity look-alike? That’s for us to find out as we follow her journey inside the house. But for now, let’s get to know the “Sassy Sipag Girl”, Jelay Pilones.
As the eldest among four siblings, this perseverant and multi-talented Grade 11 student has been her parents’ helpmate in generating income for their family by working as a part-time singer in a bar in their vicinity, from which she earns 500 pesos every night.
She was able to develop and hone her impressive singing and incredible beatboxing prowess, which were her ticket in snagging the most coveted golden star during the Star Hunt auditions, by always watching the gigs of her parents who are also performers themselves.
Armed with the love, support, and inspiration brought by her family and the intense fervor to help them financially, Jelay was able to win the initial challenge bestowed to her and the other three Star Dreamers – building the tallest tower of bottled water within the allotted time.
Being the first-ever female aspirant to be declared as an official housemate, Big Brother immediately gave her a task to dress up in all-black overalls and full-face mask bonnet and act like a shadow until the guy housemates were able to figure out where she came from without speaking.
And now that she’s slowly unraveling her genuine self to her housemates and the spectators, is she going to make it up to the end of the competitions? Let’s see by watching PBB: Otso weeknights after Halik on Primetime Bida and at 7:30pm on weekends. Get updated as well to the other happenings and news about the housemates by catching PBB: Otso Gold on weekdays after Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Los Bastardos.
