For housemate Art Guma, he sees his stint on Pinoy Big Brother Otso as an effective platform to show the world the things that he could do and to get the exposure he’s been pining for, despite already having a video that went viral after being viewed and shared by millions of people on social media. Thus, he was dubbed “Bae-ral Gwapito ng Davao”.
Well, his moniker suits him well for he is unmistakably handsome and naturally charming, which is what the council comprised of eight previous Big Winners described him when it chose him as one of the official teen housemates of the current edition. Besides, they also foresaw that he could bring happiness and fun inside the house because of his sunny disposition and positive outlook in life.
The 17-year-old charmer, whose given name is Mark Clython Arthur Guma, grew up under the care of his foster family, after his biological mother let them adopt him. Even though they are not his real family, he never felt neglected nor was treated differently because they showered him with overwhelming affection and unwavering support. That’s why he’s very much thankful for them.
“Hindi ko siguro malalampasan lahat ng challenges sa buhay ko kung hindi ako pinalaking matibay at suportado ng foster parents ko. dahil do'n, sobrang thankful ko,” he stated during his interview for Star Hunt: The Grand Audition Show.
On that same interview, he was also asked regarding the story behind his trending video that raked in millions of views and reactions from the netizens. In the video in which he filmed himself uttering “Hi, Miss” in a suave manner and screeching afterwards in his high-pitched voice, Art said that it was only a dare posed to him by his classmates and they didn’t expect it to be viral within 24 hours.
Will he able to garner millions of votes as well from the public during his stay inside the house?
