Having a pretty and cute face complemented by bubbly and endearing personality, it’s definitely impossible not to fall under the spell of Tori Garcia, the Star Dreamer-turned-official housemate who got her fellow adult Pinoy Big Brother Otso housemates Wakim Regalado and Yamyam Gucong smitten over her.
Within her two-week stay inside the house, we were able to witness how she was able to easily adapt and bond with her new set of companions. We also saw how determined she was to help their team in winning their tasks (not to mention being one of the leaders of their latest challenge), and how she imparted herself, her life, and her talent to every one of us.
However, more than her adorable beauty and admirable personality, there’s certainly more to her than meets the eye, and here are the things we found out about the “Bombshell Sweetie” that will probably make you love her even more.
She grew up in Singapore
In her interview with Star Hunt before entering the camp more than a month ago, the “Bombshell Sweetie”, whose real name is Ariana Victoria Garcia, shared that living in a foreign land was terribly a challenge for her. Born in the Philippines, her Filipino parents, who are both architects, tagged her along with them when they migrated to Singapore when he was only four years old. Growing up in a foreign land, wherein the Filipino community there wasn’t as huge during that time as it is now, what made her stay there difficult was being the only Pinoy-blooded pupil in the primary school she attended.
Nonetheless, she still pursued and was able to graduate in college. Despite the discouragement of her mom, she still persisted to go back here in the Philippines to chase her dream of becoming a renowned singer and actress. She’s been in the country for three years now.
She is a double major graduate
As what we have mentioned, Tori was able to finish her tertiary education, not only with a single degree like what most people do, but two!
In the above video, she was seen introducing herself as 23-year-old lass who is a graduate of Mass Communications and Literature and English Studies. She then went on to divulge on her interview how being a MassCom graduate made her adept in writing scripts, working the cameras, editing audios and videos, and even directing.
It was her directorial gig for a school short film that made her realize wanting to be in front of the camera than doing the job behind-the-scenes.
She has already entered the local entertainment scene
This realization urged her to join auditions in Singapore and eventually beginning a singing and acting career there as “Ariana Garcia”. But the limitations and censorship implemented there did not satisfy her hunger for growth and challenge, which made her decide to leave for the Philippines a day after her graduation.
Despite not being fluent in Tagalog, it didn’t hinder the 23-year-old budding star from entering the local show business as she was cast as a kontrabida in the ABS-CBN teen series Luv U, playing the role of the mean English-speaking girl who bullied the character of Miles Ocampo.
This paved her way to score more projects on both the big and small screen, such as the Cinemalaya indie film “Ang Guro Kong Di Marunong Magbasa” and a co-hosting stint in another network’s gameshow, as well as on theatrical stage.
Way to go, Tori!
